So, this weekend is not only a kid free weekend but we have absolutely nothing to do. We were originally going to go upstate or for a road trip to philly, but then we saw the weather report and thought it best to stay home. Now he just wants to sit home and relax, but I'm in the mood to do something fun. I wanna go to BBB to start our registry. He thinks I'm being ridiculous since we aren't having an engagement party and it it going to be 1.5 years before I even have a bridal shower. Am I crazy for wanting to do this? Should I just wait? I was just thinking there's no harm in it. Thoughts?

Re: Men don't get it
We got engaged at Disney world. We came home December 16, we went to register December 17. FH really wanted to do it, so we decided to just go for it. We had a great time doing it. We didnt have an engagement party and I'm not even sure I'll have a bridal shower.

I don't know if you and FH live together Amanda but me and FH don't so we need to register for everything so I will need people to buy me gifts at other times other than my shower!

Re: Men don't get it
you could do it now, i did it a lil over a year in advance. My only advice is do NOT register at crate and barrel now if you plan to that is lol. With BBB it wasnt that bad with discontinued items or things being sold out, i only had a few things this happen with. WIth crate and barrel i registered only 6 months before the wedding and MOST of my list was discontinued stuff after the winter lol. But thats bc C&B changes most of there stuff after 1 season. I had so many changes to make

Re: Men don't get it
i totally get you sometimes i want to go out and FH is like I just want to stay home and relax but sometimes thats boring. I don't think you are being too ridiculous in registering. I personally will wait although i can't wait to register!! but I will try to focus more on other things...I have school and its getting more annoying every day!!! so these are things that are keeping me from planning! I know as soon as next year comes I will start more on the planning also when i know if i am getting a house or the type of apartment i will be living on I will register so I know what items to go that go with my style and color scheme

Re: Men don't get it
I set up my registry at Fortunoff (to just get the gift card really). I put some stuff on it but not much since a lot may not be available by the time of wedding or shower.
I will go back maybe 9 months before the wedding and work on it again.
