Menu Cards - Is anyone using them?

Am I going overboard or, as my FI says printer crazy? I'm thinking about printing out menu cards to be placed between each place setting. The last Martha Stewart magazine had a sample that very simple and elegant. What do you think?

I made them for my wedding...

Fran - I had a floral clip art image that I used consistantly on our save the date letter, program, and at the top of the menu. I'm glad I did it because now I have a nice momento to add to my scrap book showing our menu for the day. I just used a 32 lb. wt. cover stock paper and set it up to print 2 per sheet side-by-side measuring 8.5' tall and 5.5' wide.

If you want to do it, definitely do it!

I never regretted any of the 'extras' that I did for our wedding. The menu cards sound cute and if you aren`t overextending yourself getting them done, I say go for it. It`s your wedding and you should have fun with it :o) Best wishes!

I agree with Elizabeth...

If it's not too much work for you, go for it and have fun. This is your once-in-a-lifetime chance to make all your dreams become reality! We thought about doing them, but didn't b/c we made story cards for our tables instead. Good luck!

What did you include on your menu card? I've not seen one..

Do you just list the choice of entrees or did you include the salad and pasta course?? Also, how did you display them on the table?? I'm trying to visualize this! LOL Thanks! :)

From what I've seen, it just a small card with the list of entrees, either on a small stand in the center of the table, or leaning against the centerpiece.

At Land's End, they list all the courses on a small (4x6?) card that stands on an wooden eisle-like stand - I think they have two per table (one on each side) I think it adds a nice touch - guests know what to expect and can also decide which entree they want to have before they are put on the spot by the waiter

My menu cards were about 5.5' x 8.5' (h) and had a floral design at the top, then listed the courses. For the entree, I put it as Your Choice Of then listed the 3 choices below. I had one at each place setting which was laid on the plate. Several years ago I attended a very formal wedding reception at a hotel in Manhattan on Madison Ave. and they had a small booklet at each place setting that had a cover and a parchement insert with a cord at the binding. It listed the meal selections, the wines and the champagne.
