I just invited family over for New Year's Day. What is typically on your menu for New Year's Day?

Re: Menu for New Year's Day
I am still planning my mew for New Year's Eve and its mostly going to be all appetizers.
Up to now I will have antipast, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail, shrimp wrapped in Proscuitto, rice balls...still trying to figure out what else. I need some kind of meat. If anybody has any ideas also let me know.
I am making chocolate fondue for dessert. YUM!

How about meatballs in a sweet & sour sauce. Make your meatballs (cocktail size). Then melt 1 can of cranberry jelly (the kind without the lumps) and an equal amount of spegetti/pasta/tomatoe sauce until blended. Then add the meatballs and heat thru. I made it for thanksgiving last year and left it in the crock pot. They were yummy.

Re: Menu for New Year's Day
Our New Years Day dinner has this on the menu:
We always do ITALIAN! (yummy )
Anti-pasta to start
Ceasar Salad
Pasta - Penne al-vodka
Chicken Parm
Lasagna with meat (sausage/meatball)
Wine to complement and desert to follow. We usually do cream puffs (homemade, but not this year)

Re: Menu for New Year's Day
how many people are you having over & what is your budget? I LOVE to do surf & turf for New Year's- Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail- but you can also do Shrimp Scampi & a Roast Beef. Of course- you would need mashed potatoes too!

Re: Menu for New Year's Day
If anyone's interested .. I just did mini Beef Wellington's to go with dinner the other night when we had company .. and they were a big hit!! Plus .. they re-heat well, too .. we had some leftovers because I cooked way too much food .. so I experimented with re-heating them .. and they were still yummy.
I'd be happy to put together the recipe for anyone who wants it .. just don't have the time at this minute.
