We're having a buffet but I want to make menus anyway because a lot of the stuff is Austrian so I want my family to know what everything is... now the question is... does everyone get a menu or what?

i think it would be nice for everyone to have a menu since it's all foods they're not familiar with. they may want to bring it to the buffet table with them to help make their choices

I work at a wedding venue and sometimes they will put what each dish is right infront of each station.
You might even want to ask the venue if they make menus because I know where I work we do make the menus for each event if we are asked.
We placed the menu at each place setting.

I think this would be more helpful than menus on the table. I know if you put 3 or 4 things with which I was unfamiliar on a menu and then I went up to the buffet, I might not know which is which unless it was obvious.
ETA - Then again, I guess the servers will be telling people what it is, too...
