Do we have to have them on the tables? if so how may.. one per table? per guest?

you can do 1 per table or 1 per couple.
But if you really dont want them- you really dont have to. Remember...its your wedding you do what you and FH want to do

i think one per person is best, so that the table looks even. but i've been to weddings when they don't have them.
if they're not there, i don't miss them.

I think it's nice to have, but when I went to weddings and didn't have them, I was fine.
My hall provides them, or I probably wouldn't be having them.

so i spent money and time on making menus for everyone and i got them all back, now i dont know what to do with them of course. They look great on the place setting but if you want to save i would suggest maybe doing only 2 or 3 per table.
If you wanted to skip them completely i would say they are not a necessity but rather a nice added touch

My venue provides them..Nothing fancy,but the whole point of them is to see what is being offered, so I am not bothering to make new ones... More expense and time and if something gets changed last minute they would be wrong etc. I only want one so I can take one for our scrapbook....

It a personal choice. I prefer being able to read the dinner choices rather then trying to hear the waiter tell me what they are. (I am hard of hearing) Thats why we had menus. We did 1 per guest.
