Mermaid Dress Fittings

Mermaid Dress Fittings

I had my first fitting at bridal reflections in Carle Place. The seamstress told me she won't be able to fully smooth out creases the dress makes because that's just how it fits my body. I'm not a big girl, I don't have rolls. I'm not happy with this answer, I'm wondering if another seamstress could figure things out. I have a lazaro mermaid fit dress. Does anyone have suggestions? I just want the dress to fit my body smoothly without creases. Thanks.

Okay, I think I know exactly what you are talking about because I have a lazaro mermaid/trumpet gown, too. Do you mean like the line/crease that is formed from the built in bustier?

There's that line--her solution is to cut the corset shorter so that where it stops will be more covered with lace and not as noticeable. She didn't want to completely remove the corset because she said I need support.
But there are also creases around the waist to hip area.

Hmm, okay. My dress was doing that weird line from the bustier and my seamstress actually extended the boning on the side a bit longer and that seemed to work. She also told me to go out and get a long line bra with boning in it because it will help give the dress something to properly lie on other that my body. Both of those things got rid of that weird bustier line for me.

As far as the other creases, I'm not sure what's causing those. Maybe a long line bra will help get rid of those, too??
