That sounds good to me, the only thing I am wondering about it is....

If you have 2 photogs for 9 hours... how come they are saying a minimum of 400 pics I would want to know about how many they actually take, not the minimum. Of course they can't tell you I am going to take EXACTLY 512 pictures. But I would want to know an average of how many they actually have taken at other weddings. To me it doesn't sound like a lot of pics for 9 hours with 2 people snapping shots.

Agreed - I am having 2 photographers w/ mine and I was told I would have anywhere from 900 to 1100 pics. The other thing - would your parents want cloned parent albums? My mom was a stickler on that...she didnt want a cloned album of our wedding album because she wants more family pics in hers. FHs parents will also get a spearate parent album of whatever pics they want as well. Also, see if you get Thank You cards too....(if you want them)

But, that is a great price!!

I asked what the minimun amount was only because we are having a small bridal party and about 125 people at the wedding.
another photo place wouldn't give a minimum so i wanted to cover that end of it.
If we do decide to go with him I probably will have the minimum changed.

the only thing i don't like is a minimum of 400 pictures....mine has a minimum of 800....i would try to change that, not that they only take 450 or something. other than that, i think it sounds pretty good,

Since we are paying for this we arent going to pay for different designs of albums.
I'm Sure FMIL will be happy with the pictures we pick.
Not interested in any thank you cards. Since we are getting all proofs we are going to print them out ourselves.

we really are trying to keep the cost low

when you go back to meet with them you could try and get ty's thrown in though--that way they would be free instead of you printing them yourself..jmo

I would still ask the question, or their average not their minimum. JMO... It sounds like a great deal if your getting what you want at a price you are happy with.... I say go with it then....

That's a great deal - who'd you meet with?

Re: Met with photographer/videographer last night

the price sounds ok, but I also question the 400 photos. I would ask for the min to be higher, most places usually start at a 500 min for one photog and go several hundred higher for two photogs. We had 3 photogs, we sort of got an extra for free and we weren't going to turn it down, and they told us they would probably shoot several thousand pics and edit that down to over a thousand for proofs and to make it easier for us to go thru the proofs (getting rid of ones where eyes are closed, the pic came out bad, etc.).

eta: we also had a small wedding - no official bridal party, 66 people total at the wedding. one photographer shooting for 9 or 10 straight hours can produce a lot of photos.

we are going to meet with another photographer tomorrow.

thank you all so much for your help with this!!!!

Re: Met with photographer/videographer last night

I agree with what everyone else said.

The price seems to change sometimes based on what type of album you are getting.
digital, acrylic cover, metal cover, leather cover etc.

Also... SOME photographers charge extra for metallic pages. If that's something you like i would ask the price of that too just in case.
