We loved both! We still want to meet with some more photgraphers but FH and I really loved Duet.
Duet: we me Eric and he is really nice. We didnt feel pressured he shows you the packages its very straight foward! their work is amazing!!
velvet: we met with bob. his work is great too. I have seen his epics of LIW girls on here and he does great work. our only complain with him is that he showed us all of Camachos stuff.. i would have liked to have seen more of his work with other brides. He knew i heard of Velvet through LIW and that i was familiar with her but it annoyed me and FH. It was almost like that was his BEST work and that is all he wanted to show us
he showed us her album, then her album on his computer, her THank yous were on his desk, and he showed us HER video. Most i have seen on her profile here.
(FH gave me a look when Bob showed us her album and i was like OH CAMACHO haha)
so we are really excited with both of there work and we really have to sit down and talk about what we want to do.
any Duet brides here.. i would love to know what you were quoted to see if i could do better (fm please!)
we will most likely will not be getting the parent albums it will save us anywhere from 700-1000. I wasnt impressed with the parent albums and I was talking to my cousin who had a destination wedding. SHe is making her albums online. she started to do so on Shutterfly and they looked awesome. She said she is going to try a new site mypublisherpro.com. she said both are less expensive and they offer discounts all the time. we will most likely go this route or i will just create reg albums for our parents. this way i can put in as many phots as we like. Most places quoted us for only about 18 pics in the parent albums.

I booked with duet!! i loved them! and when i saw velvet i too only saw camachos pics!! lol that was my only pet peeve about velvet!

bob was really nice but some of the things he said were weird....like....he said something about maybe leaving before the end of the party....and i remember thinking, 'what' arent you supposed to be there for the whole thing start to finish? i never asked him to clarify that though so who knows what he really meant.

yea i somewhat think that, that was there best work ever..which means does their other work not come out as good? I was scared about this and thats why i didn't book with them...i didn't want to be dissapointed if my pics did not come out like camachos

Ok, I'm a velvet bride.... If you look through this site or do a search some of the girls have already taken there Epics with him and they came out amazing. I booked with him quite a while ago and he showed me a number of albums that he did and he went through the ones hanging on the walls with my FH and me. His work is consistant throughout the albums. I think he shows Camachos wedding because all the brides that go in there want to see it. He showed me a little bit of everything. I am happy that I chose him but go with you gut!!!!

When I met with Velvet I saw Camachos pics also but I also saw several other brides as well. We have all seen her pics on here and all know that he did an amazing job with her wedding...honestly, thats why I went to see him. But we ended up booking with Duet anyway. dont get me wrong.. i loved his work and we are def considering him. we were just bothered by it personally. he didnt show us any others only hers!
i was acutally looking at everyones epics and noticed that alot were done by velvet and loved them that is why we went to see him.

I really liked Velvet and I had a similar experience to you. It just comes down to personal style to chose between Velvet and Duet. I think they are both excellent companies with beautiful work.

I agree with you. You go with who you feel is going to produce something that you will love in the end. My first choice was Imagine Studios because I loved all the work they have done, however they would not accomadate me without videography. They won't let you just purchase photography during the month of April-November. So Velvet was my second choice for quality and price. We met with Right Angle (not for me) and I unfortunately I had a problem with Duet through e-mails / phone calls before I even met with them so I automatically took them off my list. But no one here is going to get mad if you like or dislike one photographer over the other.

When I met with Bob he showed me albums from brides at my hall! Anyway of course a photographer is going to show you his best work. You can always ask to see other albums no matter what photographer you are going to see. I never got to meet with Duet. I met with 3 photographers total and I loved his work the best. But, you gotta like your photographers work. If you are thinking about booking him still I would ask to go through a few more albums before signing a contract just to make sure. Or I would look througha variety of albums from the other photographers I look through.

We booked with velvet. Bob did show us Camacho's album also, But he did show us others. You could have just asked him to se others he would have shown them to you. He took out ones that he did at the westbury manor for us to see so we get an idea of what pics he can take there and a few others.

When I met with Bob..... I looked at all his album..... you should of asked to see other ones or got up and took the other albums and looked at them. That's what I did. I think he is wonderful!!!! Plus he gives you a lot. Everyone has different taste.
