Can you go through the metal detectors at the airport while you're pregnant? Is it dangerous?
Also, into what month would you continue to fly if given the choice?

They are safe, it is not an x-ray machine like your bags go through.... I think you are able to fly up til your 7th month, can anyone else confirm that?
ETA - are you planning a trip?
ETA #2 - I just noticed you are on the expecting list!!! Congrats!!!!!

I thought you arent allowed on a plane after your 36th week. The airline rules.
And yes, the MD's are safe

Re: Metal detectors at airport while pregnant
Thanks for the congrats! I'm only 8 weeks so it's still early but, besides felling horrible, everything is still ok! We are planning a trip in early November to tell his parents/family in Wisconsin and then we are planning on going to Florida in February - at which point I will just be 7 months God willing everything keeps going smoothly! So I didn't know if I should check with my doc on traveling in Feb. before booking the tickets... And last time I was at the airport I saw a pregnant lady walking around the detectors and they just went through her bags, etc. so the though game to mind....

As long as your having an uneventful pregnancy your doc should have no problem with you going away at 7 months. Make sure you check with your airline and let them know you are pregnant. Like I said Im pretty sure its no flying after 36 weeks but make sure.

My doc said no flying for me after 30 weeks - I had a normal, uneventful pregnancy.... I went to the Bahamas when I was 26 weeks.
ETA: I went through the medal detectors with no problems. I did have trouble bending over though when they made me take off my shoes!

I flew at 33 weeks, my doc said that there is no contraindication to flying unless you are high risk(b/c if something happened on the flight you are away from medical attention). Or if you are more than 36 weeks pregnant b/c of the risk of going into labor on the flight... It is important b/c of the risk of blood clots to move around a lot, drink a lot of water. I would ask for a bulk head seat for the extra room... and aisle seat for bathroom needs
