Re: Metal detectors in airports and Mp3 players/digital cameras
Just throw it in your carry-on and let them scan it with the xray machine. You will have no problem.
Ive brought far worse onto the airplane with no problems.

Re: Metal detectors in airports and Mp3 players/digital cameras
We didn't have any problem with our digi camera at all - I saw a bunch of people on the plane with mp3 players too, so you should be fine. Speaking of airports, here's a funny story from our honeymoon!! So there we are at JFK, giddy at 7 in the moring and on our way to DISNEY as newlyweds! So we get up to start boarding and as DH is emptying his pockets, the guard sees his butane lighter and asks 'What is THAT?' DH tells him it's a lighter, shows him how it works and the guard immediately tells him he can't board the plane with it!!! Now, this lighter was my wedding gift to him, a really beautiful Colibri lighter that I had engraved and everything - spant almost $100 on it! DH just tried to explain 'look, we're on our honeymoon, my wife bought this for me as a wedding gift, can't I just empty it?' They wouldn't budge! They just kept saying that it wasn an explosive and he wasn't getting on the plane with it, and that he 'might' be able to pick it up when we returned, but they weren't responsible for it..... The thought of his wedding gift being stolen by some airport guard was just to upsetting and I couldn't help it and stared crying. Not to play the 'sobbing damsel' card or anything, but this guy didn't even care that I was hysterically crying as we're about to start our honeymoon!!We honestly had no idea a butane lighter wasn't allowed on the plane! We had a limo drop us off, so we couldn't even leave it in the car! So, DH and I went off to the side again, and he said he'd try to get his mom to come pick it up for us, since there was no way were we just handing it over to someone who would steal it once we left... Luckily, DH was able to speak with one of the supervisors who sympathized with our situation and since our plane was going to leave soon, he agreed to personally hold on to it until DH's mom could come to pick it up - which she did.
LOL - never a dull moment with us, I swear! So that's how OUR honeymoon started and we ended up laughing about it the whole time! So, don't bring any butane lighters with you, whatever you do
