I went to the travel agent today to discuss honeymoon options. I was swayed towards Mexico? Is anyone going to Mexico on your honeymoon? If so where are you staying. I still think Mexico is a bit of a risk since I am getting married during hurricane season.
I am going to St.Lucia during the HEIGHT of Hurricane season for out HM> Just buy the optional travel insurance this way if you can't go you don't lose your money and can re schedule it.
If you do mexico, go to Playa Del Carmen! We stood at the Riu, and it was amazing!
We were looking at the Rivier Maya and might be staying at the El Dorado Royale in teh Casitas. That is one of the options we were offered but she would like us to explore anywhere in Mexico.

I actually got engaged in Mexico. We stayed at the all inclusive Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya. It was beautiful and it also included some excursions. I don't know if they are still offering that but it is worth looking in to. They also allowed us to eat at and use the facilities of other palace resorts in the area. Good Luck!

Wea re going to Mexico in September for our HM. I was worried about hurricane season too but I did a lot of research online and spoke with the resort. They said that hurricane season is from June-November and that they haven't been hit with a hurricane in a while and that September has great weather. I researched online the past few hurricanes and none of them have been close to Riviera Maya. If you want to avoid the risk all together then go to Aruba...they are out of the hurricane path.

Suzanne - My fiance and I just went to Mexico the end of June. It was beautiful and we didn't get swine flu! Don't worry about all the hype..if you want to go...go!! We stayed at Ocean Coral & Turquesa by h10. It was AMAZING. Hope this helps....
