I've been researching for our honeymoon. I am highly considering Aruba (probablly the Marriott), but am also thinking all inclusive with Mexico. We are on a tight budget,
Anyone know about the Excellence Rivera Mayan in Mexico? http://www.excellence-resorts.com/all-inclusive-resorts/riviera-cancun-mexico/cancun-overview.htm
Or Valentin Imperial Maya
Thoughts? Thanks!

Not sure if you're dead set on Aruba or Mexico, but Sandals has some awesome all inclusive deals going on right now! Check out the website www.sandals.com. Also Unforgettable Honeymoons have specials through their company in addition to the sandals deals! You DEFINITELY might want to check it out!

Hi Jackie, I'm Jackie too--lol. So we're going to Mexico on our honeymoon and we're staying in the Casitas at the El Dorado Royale. It's an all inclusive resort and it looks AMAZING!!! The Casitas are pricier than the regular rooms, but you should definitely check them out. You can look at the website at karismahotels.com. It's in Riviera Maya, there's jet skiing on site, horseback riding, ATV tours, there's like 9 restaurants....it really looks amazing. Good luck!!!

We went to Excellence Playa Mujeres on our HM! It was amazing!! Check out my review:
responded on the 10 brds, but we too are staying at the excellenve but the playa mujeres one and we are also staying at the Valentin for the second half of our trip. i always read nothing but amazing reviews of the resorts on trip advisor. supposedly amazing food as well, especially considering they are all inclusives and usually the standard is a little different but it seems these are 'real restaurant' quality

We are going to El Dorado Royale for a couple of nights before our cruise. It's a huge all inclusive resort with 4 diamond ratings, great reviews on trip advisor, like 13 pools or something ridiculous like that, and awesome prices...
def check them out!!

WOW That room is amazing! this just moved higher on my list, BUT i am nervous about hurricane season. This is why I was thinking Aruba at first.
We are getting married in August. Should we avoid Mexico because of this?
We went during hurricane season (the end of July) and we had perfect weather the whole time! Ive actually been to mexico 3 times(my HM, Cancun another time, and cabo) in July and it never rained each time i was there

FH and I absolutely loved Mexico. We haven't been to Aruba but will maybe go there for our one year anniversary. If you are looking into Mexico, definitely look into the Palace hotels. FH and I stayed at Sun Palace in Cancun and it was amazing. It was couples only (all adults), all inclusive, and included some excursions. We had a huge room with a 2 person jacuzzi and there was a ton of great food/entertainment. They have a bunch of different Palace hotels throughout Mexico if you don't want to go to Cancun. Also, as a Palace guest you are free to go to other Palace hotels and use their amenities and eat at their restaurants for no charge. We ended up going to 3 other Palace hotels during our stay. We booked through a member and got a great deal, which was much more reasonable than booking directly through the hotel. If you have any questions feel free to FM me. See below for the link to their website and for pics of Sun Palace for their website:
we were thinking of staying at the el dorado im nervous about getting sick in mexico thats the only thing holding me back...but the place looks gorgeous

I went to riveria maya 2 summers ago and we stayed at Secrets Capri. OMG... it was so so sooooooo beautiful and the food was amazing!!!! (we ordered more then 1 entree most nights. lol we were piggies lol).
The people were great, the 'basic' rooms were huge and beautiful w/separate shower and jacuzzi bath and balconies.
I wish Secrets had hotels outside of Jamaica and Mexico though. I'd DEF look at staying in another.
