Anyone going to Mexico for their HM? I found a resort their that I REALLY like and want to go to but I'm concerned about safety/health issues. Anyone been there recently or planning a trip? Am I silly to worry about these things? My brother just got back from a trip to Cancun last night. He said he had a great time and had minor 'stomach issues' one day, but said it might have been from drinking too much.

the resorts are pretty safe there. all water etc is bottled. you should be fine.

My parents have a timeshare in Cancun and other parts of Mex and it's def safe there - no stomach issues or anything

I went right after the swine flu,, no need to worry.
regarding stomach issues- i think its something that happens at ALOT of all inclusives.. You are drinking constantly and also eating alot and mixing everything.

We are stayng at Excellence (riviera maya) The water is filtered at the resorts, you will be fine.

We're doing a Mexican Riviera Cruise and will be stopping at 3 ports. I think that as long as you are looking to stay at a resort and don't wander off too far from there, you should be fine. It's all about keeping your eyes open and making good choices. We hear about the kidnappings, etc a lot here in AZ so I understand your concern. It should be fine though.

yup-was in Mexico last fall and felt fine-resorts are pretty safe.
Two of my co-workers just came back from the cancun area on seperate times and both said everything was safe. Just take caution with the water-one co-worker said he even brushed his teeth w/bottled water!

i went to mexico at the end of june. i highly recommend it as i've been there 3 times already. we stayed at riu tequila in riviera maya. it's so much fun and there's a lot of things to do there. we left the resort a few times and walked into town to go shopping and to go to some bars. the only complaint my fiance had was that it was about 95 degrees all day and all night. i didn't mind one bit. if you have any questions, FM me.

My FH and I are going to cancun in a few weeks. To the moon palace to see about doing a big 5 day vacation-moon thing the week after our wedding with a goup of our friends.

My FH and I go to Mexico every summer. Last year we stayed in The Grand Palladium royal section. It was absolutely amazing....and really reasonable. All the places we've stayed in were nice but this place was really fancy. It's a little over an hour south of the Cancun airport but the ride is worth it. It's totally safe and the resort has a filtration system throughout

I think if u go to a resort, it should be fine. u might need to adjust to the type of ingredients they use but other than that, I don't think it should be a problem

i would say if you are staying in a resort you should be safe. drinking too much may do that to anyone's stomach after a hot day in the sun. lol honestly, i would be more worried about all the reports coming back about people being ransomed and kidnapped.
