Mexico HM

How many ladies are going to Mexico? I still have no decided. I want to go but the whole drug war is worrying me.

We're going to Mexico, Riviera Maya. A good friend of mine just came back from Cancun last week and said i have nothing to worry about. Unless of course you are going near the border i don't think you should have any worries

We're going to Excellence Playa Mujeres and I can't wait!!!! We're planning on sticking to the resort so I'm not worried at all.... 185 more days and I'll be on my honeymoon!!!!

I am going in October ans staying at the Excellence Playa Mujeres! Can't wait! I read a lot about it and it is safe to go to the resorts and we are not near the borders.

i'm going to Royal Hideaway Playacar. as long as you don't go to the borders or non-resort places you'll be fine!

We went to Mexico for our honeymoon. However with the drug wars going on I wouldn't reccommend going at the present moment. Maybe it will be better by your wedding date.

If you want another option, we went to Dominican Republic for our 1 year anniversary and we had an amazing time. We stayed at the Excellence Resort. It was absolutely beautiful and so much fun. It was also very affordable and all inclusive.

We were going to go to Mexico (Riviera Maya), but decided not to b/c of everything going on down there. Nothing probably would've happened, but we didn't want to take a chance. We're now going to Aruba.

We are going to Excellence Playa Mujeres for 7 nights in June!!! We are not worried about going to a resort at all. The worst of the problems are closer to the border area, Tijuana, and Juarez. I can't freaking wait to relax in Cancun for a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Mexico. We've been to Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa before and loved it.

I wrote to my travel agent - travel Tom with AMEX- and this is what he said to me...

From all reports, the current drug situation is limited to border
towns and not to the tourist areas. There have been no reports by my
vendor (or news channels or even on trip reports on tripadvisor.com)
to suggest that the resort areas are affected.

However, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and if it
changes, we can make appropriate actions.

I'm a Playa Mujeres bride from June 29-July 9 and can't wait! We comtimplated changing but decided eff it we're going and we're gonna enjoy it to the max! I'm not afraid
