Mexico - Riviera Maya

Hi All Just wondering if any of you have traveled to Riviera Maya in Mexico and could give some tips or pointers or places to see , restaurants etc.
We are going there in May for a short stay during the holiday.

Thanks

We're trying to plan a trip there for this summer too! I've been reading a lot about it, and it sounds like it's really nice. There are tons of beautiful resorts to choose from and DH is really excited about touring some of the ruins that are nearby. I've read that Playa del Carmen is a good area to stay in because it supposedly has great beaches, lots of shops and restaurants, and ferry service to Cozumel. We just can't decide on a resort because they all look so nice!

I know we are having the same problem with the booking on the resort. I have my air but we have narrowed it down finally and now keep flip flopping btwn these two properties.

.

The Tides
or
mandarin Oriental -(not sure if this one is wise it will most probably be their soft opening by time we arrive)

Supposedly this is the 'Hot and New' upcoming place to travel to. Our travel and leisure Mag talks much about it.

Me and my other half have been there twice and we had an amazing time. we stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, Everything was exceptionally great. there were so many restaurants, bars, a club, theater , shops, Plus we were only 10 to 15 minutes away from Playa del Carmen where all the shops and beaches are, I personally would stay at Playa del Carmen because it was always so busy over there. We are looking to go back this year and stay and the new resort they just opened, Iberostar Grand Hotel which is supposed to be much nicer and it's for couples only.
