IMO Royal Hideaway is the BEST! Seriously in a class of its own. It used to be called 'Allegra' but the parent company, Occidental Hoteles, runs it now and it's called Occidental Royal Hideaway Resort & Spa Playacar...read my review, go on TripAdvisor or just ask ladies here...Royal Hideaway rocks!

It's a lot smaller than Aventura Spa Palace and a 5* Leading Hotel of the World that happens to be all-inclusive.

With all that said, hurricane Emily did a number on that area and it would be wise to call the properties you're considering before booking anything. Good luck and feel free to FM me should you have any questions.

I heard that Royal Hideaway was fantastic. Two of my friends went there and we are thinking about going there for our honeymoon.

You are treated like royalty, the grounds are beautiful, drinks and food great. Service is outstanding.

I went to Occidental Royal Hideaway Resort & Spa Playacar a few years ago and thought it was AMAZING!!! The best vacation ever - and it was just me and my mom! I would LOVE to go back with FH someday. The service, the food, the beach - all incredible!!!!

We were supposed to go to Aventura Spa Palace but it got severely damaged from hurricane Emily. It's not even supposed to open until the end of Oct maybe later. And even then it's only supposed to be a portion of it. I know your HM isn't till next summer but I have no idea how long it takes to fix them up. I would check on the status of the other resorts too.

The Adventura is called the Adventura Spa Palace... It's adults only. We are staying at the Moon Palace Sunrise, my parents have been there three times and absolutely love it!! We are using their RCI plan as well

It's actually Aventura Spa Palace (no 'd' as the word 'aventura' means adventure in spanish)

I've been to the Moon Palace Sunrise and liked it a lot. However, the beach part wasn't terribly great, but the pool and the rooms were fabulous!
