I am planning on staying there for two nights during my trip. It will be me and my husband. My question is, is South Beach too much of a party atmosphere? We do enjoy nightlife, but the hotel selection is making this so difficult. Would you recommend to stay in South Beach or Miami Beach which I believe is a little north.

DH and I loved South Beach when I joined him on a business trip there, there is a party atmosphere but it's not too crazy, found a ton of quieter restaurants (esp. if you go off the main beachfront strip). Can't wait to go back there. I would stay there!

It is very much of a party atmosphere but not as crazy as say, Cancun. I would still recommend you stay in South Beach rather than Miami Beach -- I think you'll have more fun.

We went to south beach as part of our cruises stop- and we had an amazing time! The water is GORGEOUS!! And the strip wasnt soo bad but we only stayed there til about 5-

I am trying to still find which hotel to choose from. I don't want to be too far from the restaurants, etc.

From what I remember, everything in South Beach was in easy walking distance. We stayed in Miami Beach, but mainly because we planned it only a couple months in advance and also went during the last week of Dec.
