I got my damask pocket fold invitations from Michaels and read some blogs that recommended getting A8 invitation envelopes instead of using the actual invitation to be mailed as is. Does anyone know where I can find an A8 invitation envelope that doesn't cost an arm and leg??

Re: Michaels Invitations
My hobby is card making...I get A8 envies in Staples... I don't recall how much I pay for them, but I get large boxes of them. I know they aren't expensive there.

Re: Michaels Invitations
Are they sturdy like wedding invitation envelopes? I saw some there but they were multi colored and flimsy... Unless I was looking in the wrong section lol

Re: Michaels Invitations
I purchased black A8 envelopes from envelopemall.com. They were good quality, came in quickly, and fit the invites well.
I had the same damask invites!

Not one single problem! I went to the PO and asked first. In fact, I think it looked nicer because you could hardly see the PO's stamp so the envelope looked really clean and neat!

Re: Michaels Invitations
Thanks so much!! I just ordered the sample of the black envelope. I saw a blog where a bride added a damask lining to the inside of her envelope with wrapping paper. Do you think the envelope needed or just an unneccesary expense??

Envelope liners are REALLY easy to make and they are really nice. We used the same envelopes for our STDs and put in an envelope liner that read 'Save the Date' over and over again in script. It was really easy, added some thickness to the envelope, and it was a cute personalized touch.
We did a REALLY crazy thing, we purchased martha stewart flocking powder and 'flocked' ALL the invites (including RSVP cards, sticker seals and all!) to give it that raised velvety feel. It was BEAUTIFUL and added something special to them, but it was a PITA! At that point, envelope liners were the last thing on my mind. But if you have the time and patience, definitely do them!
