Hi, I got my dress at MR also. Here is my take on things. My dress was under $3000 (so they do have dresses undre that, but not many) but alterations are pretty hefty, $295 for alterations & $75 for the bustle. I'm petit, so when I went to get measured, they told me that they would have to custom order the dress, and that ended up being an extra $250. I didn't buy a headpiece there because I found them too expensive. The same goes for the veils. I lucked out, doing a little legwork I found a place on 38th, Paul's Veils. I ordered the same exact veil style that I saw at MR for 1/3 less. (Turns out that they make the veils for Michelle Roth). They're making my veil and matching the edge to a swatch I left with them.

Sarah, I'm glad to hear you had a positive experience. I hope that my second fitting goes smoothly. I bought my dress there becasue they have a great reputation, that's why I was so shocked. I guess I didn't expect that from them and it made it that much more shocking. I'm sure that I won't have a similar experience again.

They had a lot of headpieces, but since my dad is making mine, I didn't look at them closely. I didn't see any brand names though.
