I went to my dermatologists the other day and the esthetician recommended I get 2-3 done before the wedding, yeah, they're $150 a pop!
I was wondering if any 20-somethings have had it done.

Re: Microdermabrasion
I had it done about 2-4 times for acne. It helped my skin, but it was expensive. If you don't think you need it then I wouldn't do it. You can always get a facial which will also help to make your skin smooth and glow. I know a great woman (she may still do microderm, but i'm not sure) who does facials and it has helped my skin soooo much. She works out of her home as well as a spa. If u want info on her fm me.

Re: Microdermabrasion
I THINK it's when they apply a crystalized cream, some say it has real crystals in it, and use this rotating machine all over your face, to slough away all the dead skin.
I guess like a super exfoliator, your guess is as good as mine, but if it makes my face look great, I'm in!

Re: Microdermabrasion
My cousin had it done when she was 23 -- loved it, but the results are temporary and it is very expensive. Who I spend the money on it--No. Would my cousin do again? Yes.

Re: Microdermabrasion
I live in LA so I am not much help with my person, but I have been going for a six treatment package. It cost 70 a session and she does an upper body massage as well. I don't think you need to go to a doctor to have a done, just a licensed facialist. I am older(mid-thirties) and my skin looks fantastic. Each treatment it gets better. If you do it, make sure to have at least 5 treatments, two to three weeks apart. She said than I would only have to go for touch-ups, three times a year. I hope that helps!

Re: Microdermabrasion
I had a series of 5 done last year and was unhappy with the results. I paid for the 6th session but never went because I found that I was breaking out more than usual since I started.
I'm not sure if it was the place I went to, which I wasn't very happy with. If you do decide to have the microderm done, my advice is do it with a Dermatologist. And whatever you do, don't go to Carolina Skin Care in Smithtown!
