Went to my derm today figured I'd up the facial treatments...what is the ballpark for micro and peels? They kept trying to sell me a package for $850-1000 for 10 weeks of alternate face and back micro and peels..sounds costly...don't really needed but would like the enhancement, any suggestions?

I know they are expensive...sometimes spa places and salons can do these cheaper than a DR.s office..its worth checking into! Prescriptives makes a kit for I think 125..but I havent used it.. it supposedly works pretty good!

That sounds right.. that even sounds pretty good, they are usually like $100-150 a visit.. for back, it's sometimes like $200..

Well I don't mind laying out the $$$ but I was a little unerved when told the MD would not be doing the procedure but the RN's sounds like a money maker to me...Dr. Theodore Daly in Garden City is supposed to be tops he had a lot of credentials on the wall, fellow, Harvard grad, etc, but come on the RN's...I have faith in the RN'sI have several in my family but if the the MD is not doing the procedure why pay MD prices???!!!

I did a series of 5 peels at $150 each and I have to tell you, it was a big waste of money. My dermotologist did them herself, but I really didn't see a $750 improvement in my skin. However, after 6 months of accutane, I saw a 1,000,000 improvement in my skin!!! I think the peels are money makers too!!!!!

my advice is if you do it, go to a salon or spa, since they make a nice facial out of it (my experience being). i'm a sucker for anyone that puts lotion on my hands and puts them in those warm mits. it makes your hands soo soft.
You're price isn't so bad, but if you're going to spend that much money, maybe spend a bit more and get pampered a little :)
You'll probably have a small improvement. And just remember that now with summer coming, you'll have to be XTRA careful with SPF on your skin afterwards (Spf 30, at least, all day).

I use a microdermabrasion cream called Epidermx and it's really helps (over the course of 6 months) reduce the almost wrinkles in my forehead and helped faded a few dark marks on my face. I really love it - my skin feels so soft after I'm done. I did it last night!
Two of my girlfriends did this and said it was a waste of $.

Thanks ladies, so far I purchased a home kitand it seems to be working not much difference my face is brighter and clearing so we will see....in the meanwhile I'll keep using the SH!T load of stuf from my derm...
