Do you think we need a microphone for our ceremony which will be outside at our RH (200 people and 2 officiants)?
Our RH does not have the equipment so I will need to get it from my band who is charging $320.
Do I need one? Can I get it cheaper somewhere else?

Re: Microphone
I would suggest getting one...I was just at an outdoor ceremony at a RH on Sat. and they didn't have it mic'd and you couldn't hear anything. I was in the back, and rude guests behind me carried on a full-blown conversation. I guess they felt like if they couldn't hear the ceremony they might as well entertain themselves. Horrible behavior...but I think it was important for an outdoor ceremony.

I would def. get it through the band as they are already on the site and fully insured.
I think it's a very reasonable price, and to be honest, you def. need a microphone & two speakers for that size of a ceremony. Especially since it's outdoors, there will be no way of controlling the acoustics.

Re: Microphone
Def use one... we are at an outdoor ceremony last month and the mic actually broke during the ceremony and after that you couldn't hear a single word. Missed their vows and everything... It's well worth the $$ considering how much $ you are paying for the rest of the day/night.. you def want the guests to hear the most important part---the ceremony!!!

I completely agree. I went to a wedding ceremony last weekend and there was no microphone, and everyone was straining to hear, which was awful. A microphone is a must!
