I am thinking about my ceremony, and am worried that no one will be able to hear anything - I was initially VERY opposed to microphones, because I feel it ruins the 'natural' effect of the outdoor ambiance, but now I am changing my mind.
I heard someone mention that I might be miked by the videographer (Eric at Duet) and I have no clue whether this mic will pick up the sound just for the video...or if everyone will be able to hear?
Any thoughts?

Re: Microphone During Ceremony??
The videographer mic is just for the video. If you're really worried, your DJ or band might be able to provide you with something for the ceremony.

Re: Microphone During Ceremony??
Yes, please have a mic for both the ceremony and video. I was an audio production major (undergraduate) and what people do not realize is that outdoor ceremonies have a lot of ambient noise (noise of the surroundings, birds, plane, etc.) even with small intimate ceremonies your guests will struggle to hear you. Nevermind grandma or grandpa. Many people don't know this but it's not that older people can't hear it's that it's difficult for them to distinguish someone talking to them from the noise in the background. That's what happens as we get older.

Re: Microphone During Ceremony??
try wireless mics - they can be put in your flowers or maybe your hair (depending on how it's worn that day)
However, be careful about having the mic on while you are saying something you may not want everyone to hear - a la George Bush calling that reporter an a$$hole while wearing a mic.
