Mid Hudson Valley

Not sure if anyone will have any suggestions but I figured why not ask! I live in Poughkeepsie, and my FBIL who lives around here recently got engaged. Unfortunately there isn't an amazing website for the Mid-Hudson Valley like LIW, so I wanted to know if anyone has been to any weddings up in this area? If you have, can you give me any suggestions to relay to them? They are getting so overwhelmed and I feel so bad...I want to help in any way possible!!

a coworker of mine just came from a wedding in grand view in poughkeepsie - heard wonderful things about it.

also there's always mohonk resort in new paltz - but i know its pricy. and who could forget castle on the hudson (though its closer to nyack) http://www.castleonthehudson.com/language/en-US/About/History.aspx

I've also heard good things about the GrandView in Poughkeepsie. Maybe also try Villa Barone Hilltop in Mahopac.

Round Hill

Le Chambord - my uncle just went for a wedding there and raved about it.

Villa Borghese haven't gone to anything there so can't vouch for it

The Thayer Hotel - went to brunch here and it was very good.

Mohonk Mountain House - pricey but excellent

FYI - The other 'popular' wedding board has a Hudson Valley Section in their message board area - so def. ask around there too.

They checked out the Grand in Poughkeepsie, but the minimum was too high if you didn't want it outside...so that's out the question.

Mohonk = AMAZING but not in their budget.

I'll let pass along the other suggestions though!
