loved it...I so want to go to savanah right now...
its a little different from the movie(unfortunately I saw the movie first...but both are great)...but you know they have to fit all the events in...
I definitely recommend

Re: midnight in the garden of good and evil
I read it years ago, and I found it to be MUCH better than the movie. I second the recommendation.

I read it years ago too, loved it!! I heard the movie was not great, so I never saw it. It made me want to go to Savannah as well.

Re: midnight in the garden of good and evil
I thought the book was waaay better as well. I actually visited Savannah after I read it and my friend & I 'broke into' the cemetary where the Bird Girl statue is...only, we came to find out that it *was* there - they removed the statue a couplr of years before due to all the visitors and possible damage (don't remember the whole story).
My FSIL used to work at Ballard's and gave me their version of the Bird Girl statue - I adore it!!

Another vote for the book over the movie!!!! (But I feel that away about almost all books that are turned into movies!)
This book really piqued my interest in visitng Savannah - one day.........

Re: midnight in the garden of good and evil
I loved this book!!! Each character was better then the next. This book put Savannah high on my list of places to visit.
I almost always find the book to be better then the movie, this was definitely the case here.

Savannah is beautiful - once you get through the outskirts. It was awesome seeing the homes that were filmed in the movie. The cobblestone paths...it's a great little town - I highly recommend it.
