might be a silly question about florists?
i still don't known my colors and have talked to several florists- i may not even have colors and just tell them to do what ever is soft/romantic and looks pretty lol. i did tell them flowers i like though. i also do not have a bridal party so i don't need to match dress colors.

Thanks! I noticed I'm getting married exactly a year after you!

we went with our colors, ribbons in that color, ideas from magazines, and our pinterests on our phones. :)
certain colors are hard to get flowers for so be careful!
but if you like roses, you can get almost any color (except blue). they can also dye flowers but i dont think they recommend that.

What colors are hard..im thinking for colors either an eggplant or a bright blue (in between royal and navy)

Unless you are dead set on a particular florist, there is no reason to book them so far in advanced. I booked mine last month for my February wedding. Also, they don't place the order for flowers till about 2 weeks before your wedding so you are free to make changes up till a certain point.

I've changed my color ideas at least 5 times since I got engaged this past Christmas. I've been told by a few people that you have to make your appointment in advance so they can get you in (if they are a busy florist), but you don't have to give them your final colors and types of flowers until 1-2 months before the wedding.

Booked my florist with a little more than 4 months before my wedding. I found it easier to know what I wanted and make sure that the flowers match the BM dresses. We will have a consultation with the florist about 2.5 weeks before our wedding to finalize everything, but I don't know how hectic everything will be so I don't want to have to do it start from scratch. Also, if you are undecided about what flowers you want, I would wait. The quote can increase over your budget or you may choose less expensive flowers and you will probably not get a refund.

Personally, I feel you should wait. I first went to my florist without knowing exactly what I wanted color wise. I told her to just come up with something for me based on the pictures I showed her. When I saw the sample I loved the idea of it, but the colors or some of the flowers weren't what I was envisioning. It wasn't her fault bc I wasn't sure on what it was I wanted.
Like the other ladies said, it's easier when you know you're colors so then the florist could suggest cheaper alternatives for you. You can then go from there and shop around for the best price.

blue is tough! darker may be easier, but we had issues because we did NOT want purple but we wanted blue (there's an orchid a lot of people use that is blue & purple)

it does help but you never know you might actually get inspiration from what the florist shows you. If you haven't pick a florist out yet definetley check out Cress Florist in little neck,ny there so amazing and affordable.

You have quite some time to go so maybe just hold off for now. I changed my mind a bunch of times. I bought pictures and then my florist suggested a few things as well. Im using Michelle from Hidden Essence and I would highly suggest her.
