So I got called into the office today and, it looks like I *might* be one of the nearly 400 teachers that *might* get let go. Great. The contract says people need to be notified by April 15, the day before the wedding. I have been a mess all day and night...I love my job. I know FH and I can survive on one salary but I don't want to start our marriage off with him having to take care of me financially, I'm a very independent person.If I knew this was going to happen I would have saved the 40 + we spent on the wedding and just eloped.
I know I'm not the only one here facing this situation, I just can't stop crying! I was getting overwhelmed with the wedding and this is pushing me over the edge

just keep your head up dont let it get you down right now you are still working things will work out for the best. Ill say some prayers that you have a job at the end of the year

Soo sorry to hear that. Hopefully it doesn't happen, but if it does EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON!! I really believe that! Think about an ex you dated....the heartache you endured from the breakup feeling like it is the end of the world, but lo and behold your situation improves so much more that you meet 'the one!'

Hopefully your job is safe! My MOH is a teacher to. She just got tenure this year but hasn't received a call yet. Atleast she won't be in school april 15th if it does happen and she can enjoy the wedding!!

That's just horrible if anything should be cut is the upper levels salaries not teachers. I remember how great my teachers were when I was younger today kids should have the same experience.

Sending good vibes to you. I know it really sucks in education right now- my mom is thankfully retiring (she put her letter in yesterday!), but my sister is only completing her first year in the same district (she taught elsewhere for 3 years prior), and my mom is freaking out for her

yes, I am sorry to hear that. I know it is hard to lose a job you love. Currently, my FH is not working as well. But keep your head up dont let it get you down right. Just know that April 16, is going to be one of the best days of your life. You are marrying the man of your dreams and the one you can't live without.
