Might to a DW instead

Hi Ladies,

I haven't posted in a while-been pretty busy with work and trying to get started on some of these wedding plans.

After much deliberation and several visits to NY halls AND looking at the actual amount of guests we would invite. FI & I are looking at having a Destination Wedding. He really doesn't care where we go so I've focused most of my research on Hilton Head, SC. The Island is beautiful and I've heard nothing but great reviews about the places that I'm looking into.

IF we were to get married here in NY we would easlily have 200++ guests! We just can't afford that; and he's having a hard time cutting people off his list. So we're going away! We'll invite about 120 people; I'm guessing maybe 50% of that will actually be able to come???

Just wanted to updated you ladies with where I am in my wedding planning!

awesome!!! my bestfriend had a destination wedding in bermuda at 9 beaches and it was by far the most beautiful wedding i have ever been to! We would have done it too but since we both have big close families we decided not to... which is why we are waiting 2yrs!!!

Hey!! I think a DW is an awesome idea! It will still be beautiful, and cut lots of costs! I would also do a DW if it weren't that all 4 of my grandparents are still alive (thankfully) and all on Long Island. I think you should totally go for it! Good luck and keep us posted!

Someone I work with is getting married in Antigua next month- she isnt inviting anyone other then her sister because she feels bad making everyone pay.....so what they are going to do is have a little party next year- nothing too formal like a wedding- but something where everyone can get together and celebrate and not brake the bank.

I thought it was a cool idea- two weddings in a few months- not bad!

I think that's a great idea! I saw a couple get married in Negril, Jamaica when FH and I were on vacation once and it was beautiful!

I have both my grandmothers-my one grandmother in Florida will hopefully be able to join us; my other one in NY isn't as mobile so unfortunately she won't be able to make it.

We're actually planning ot get married in 2011 and even witht that much time to plan it's still more money that we're comfortable with spending.

Hopefully the people we love the most will be able to make it with us. Our E-party is this weekend; and i'm sure everyone will be asking where we're getting married and i'll start telling those that don't know that we're going to Hilton Head.
