Just woke up from trying to relieve a killer migraine.... I usually find relief from medication called Zomig....but will not be taking it again until November (when I will be getting insurance from my teaching job) anyone else get them ...and how do you find relief????

i get horrible headaches!! the doctors put me on fioricet and it really really worked.
otherwise try excedrin migrane and sleep
and caffine is actually good for a headache

unfortunately i don't.................used to take 4 or 5 excedrin migraine but that stopped to and i decided 6 was too many I have prescription stuff but it makes me feel loopy and i don't trust myself driving cuase sometimes i see things!!! weird right

I'm a teacher too... do you work in a public school? If you do, you should ask what's taking so long for your insurance. Three months is a very long time. Sorry you feel so terrible but you might be able to submit receipts for doctor visit/prescription medicine even though you haven't gotten your cards and stuff yet.

I know this might sound weird, but I take a bandana and wrap it REALLY TIGHT around my head and then just lay down in a dark, quiet room.
It ALWAYS helps me and sometimes, I don't even need to take any meds.
I'm sorry--I know how much migraines suck!!

I get migraines too. I know they are coming on because I start to see spots. As soon as I start seeing the spots, I take 3 advil and lay down and keep my eyes shut for at least 20 mins. Its the best thing I can do without medication. If it is really bad, you should see a neurologist once you get your insurance. GL.

what is fioricet???you take it when you feel onset of pain OR is it daily med.? I work at St. Francis Prep H.S...and the insurance kicks in 3 months after enployment...I know ***** right?? It is getting a bit better....but they are just like the most annoying thing in the world right??

Yikes... no insurance for three months? Jeez between that and the low pay you should find a public school!

Well....tha pay is not that bad (they follow their own pay scale) and I have the best kids in the world ...Makes me wake up and want to go to work in the morning...Plus I coach 2 sports there and I went there so it makes it really cool.......

i used to take zomig... it worked but i would get soreness in my neck, swollen glands, etc... tried imitrex and the soreness was 10x worse... then was tld to take excedrin migarine and i dont leave home without it... its my wonder drug... and go figure its not perscription

excedrin migraine is good but it also can get you jittery which it did to me
lay down with the lights off and put a cold towel on your head. hope you feel better soon

Yeah...Imitrex never worked for me as well as topamax....Zomig usually works within an hour of me taking it....yet it dies sought of make me groggy...but anything is better than the pain right??

Yea my insurance was three months ago also...last year when I started teaching. Last year I never applied for vision care (different than regular insurance) and now I have to wait until january to do so...I cant even see at this point!!!!!

i get aura migraines those are when you get blurred vision and you hand and mouth goes numb and then you get the bad headache. They stink. I take zomig as well and it works sometimes but not always..

I use imitrex and it just makes me sleepy.
FH swears by excederin migraine.
Sometimes I've gotten migraines at work and when I don't have an imitrex on me, I've taken either the execedrin or advil migraine and put lots of ice on the back of my neck.

I take maxaalt and it is a wonder drug! I have had migraines since 6th grade and have been on every med. under the sun! Excedrin migraine and Advil migraine do not even come close to helping me. I have found that eucalyptus oil on pressure points works really well too in a pinch. I also changed my bc pill so I get my period once every 3 months. That has helped as well.

I don't get migranes but I get HORRIBLE sinus headaches...I actually have had one all day, and I really shouldn't be on the computer but I can't sleep
