MIL - anyone live with her before you got married

FH and I live together and a month ago his mom came from Poland (shes visting us for2 months) its been a month and shes staying till Jan 6....
I am starting to loooooooooooose it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just needed to vent!
I have no privacy, she does everything around the house, i havent cooked dinner for my FH in a month,
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

OMG!! I can't even imagine having to go through that!

HAHAHA

I am in this situation right now
Going on 3 months already.
At first it was great, but i miss my privacy and my personal space.

But we are living their for a good cause, our house has no plumbing and its being redone

I've lived with my MIL for five years. She's a sweetheart, I love her. She never interferes with our stuff or our relationship and she leaves us alone most of the time. I'll be sad when we leave there but I WANT OUR OWN PLACE!!

i feel your pain hun! We have a few months too go and i cant wait. I lived on my own for 4 1/2 yrs so its a huge adjustment for me to live in the basment of my in laws.

OMG i don't blame you. I love my fmil but i don't know if two hens under one roof is a good idea.

I've been living with FMIL for the past year...and (unless we move) will continue to do so for probably the next year.

It's not always a walk in the park...but I see how happy it makes FH and his family...most of the time

This is my biggest fear. My FH keeps telling me we need to move in w/his folks to save money for a house. I'm sorry, I'd rather rent my entire life away than live w/his parents. I can't stand being there for more than 4 hours at a time. They are very intrusive, very involved and will never give us a minute alone.

It's bad enough his mom calls us 4-5 times a day normally. If we lived w/her. OMG!

I only met her once in April when we started dating so now we're getting to know each other. Don't get me wrong, shes a wonderful, loving person but i need my space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just met with my mom to run errands & was venting to her. She said one more month dont worry! just make sure she doesn't come 1 month before the wedding.... that's its only like 4 days before the wedding....
I just need to relax & breathe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think any newly married couple should live with inlaws/parents. Its hard, your starting your new life, and even though they may mean well, it will cause lots of stress and arguments, The first year of marriage is hard enough, but through in living with parents/inlaws its even harder

i lived with FMIL for over a year before we got our own place.

It drove me crazy. We got engaged, and FH's Grandfather offered us an apartment in one of his buildings b/c he knew we weren't gonna last if I had to keep living with her.

it can really cause tension!

The thing is, his folks have a legal 2 family house -but I'm sorry- that means NOTHING to me. The laundry room is outside of what would be our door and they will be knocking on our door nonstop. I also hate her insane hill of a driveway. His dad doesn't drive and will need rides all the time, it's a very unhealthy scene. Mark my words, if he insist on living w/them, I will live alone or divorce him. I don't need a house that badly.
