So I flipped out this morning and had a breakdown on my way to work. I am just getting so overwhelmend with the planning stuff that I'm tired of it! I feel like I have a million things left to do, plus I have a huge presentation to do (pre-thesis presentation) for my doctorate this month, work, and planning! I started planning over a year ago, but there is still much to do and I am at my wit's end.
Anyone feel like the countdown is speeding up and you can't catch up to it?????
Really, I feel like this little guy-
thanks for listening!

Just take a deep breath and make a list of what is most important. You can put off the planning for a few days to get your presentation together, then work from your list - as you cross things off and see how much you really are accomplishing may help calm you down - it did for me.

Just relax and take a deep beathe. It will all work out, I was the same way. Just try to not stress and make a list and cross off as you go along.:

Try to relax and take one thing at a time - I thinkwe have all been in the situation when we felt like everything was simply overwhelming and stressful. You will get through it

Thanks ladies! I made my list....you're right, I am better than I thought. It's so nice to vent to people who really understand! Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Re: mild meltdown today
I am one big tense ball of nerves.... I am still kind of enjoying certain aspects of the planning but I feel overwhelmed most of the time!! and FH doesn't seem to understand the amount of time and energy I have spent on planning our wedding and honeymoon..He thinks I exaggerate my stress level which frustrates me even more...UGHHHHHHHH
You are not alone-- but it will all work out...We need to try to relax and know it will all get done!

aww...it happens to all of us! Just try to clear your mind and just breathe and relax. I know its easier said than done but sometimes we,including myself, let the wedding overpower and corrupt our entire lives and we obsess over minor things! Its not necessary to get yourself so upset

Re: mild meltdown today
you're getting married 6 weeks after us, and I can tell you 6 weeks ago I was mid-meltdown.
I swear it will pass! You'll do fine with your thesis proposal (FH is going to his proposal defense within a month of the wedding... so you have comapny in that dept!)
I got out of the meltdown by not trying to do programs, lab work, and diet all at the same time. I focused on programs, and once they were done, I focused on lab work. Now I'm almost done with both immediate goals!

You're totally right! I have to do one thing at a time and it will get done. FH is the best, he tries to understand, but really, he doesn't get it At least I'm laughing. Thanks for reminding me we're all in this together and I'm not the first one to crack.

Re: mild meltdown today
sounds like you have alot going on right now! im i a doctoral program and i dont envy you having to worry about thesis process in the midst of planning. just take some deep relaxing breaths. trust everything WILL fall into place!! just keep doing it at your own pace. use your free time, even if its limited, to work on planning. its just a moment of being overwhelmed and it will pass.
