I went out before to get a 1/2 gallon milk. The little grocery store charged $2.25!!!! I couldn't believe it. Soon it will be to expensive to buy milk.

Just wait it is only going to get worse. Check out the prices of cheese, butter, milk and other dairy products. There is suppose to be another increase soon on it. The dairy farmers supposedly arn't making any $$$$ so they had to increase prices.
Just wait til a pizza goes up $2 bucks a pie due to the cheese $ increase. We are going to feel it in everything. Local deli's even increased the price of Coffee b/c the milk was getting expensive. Can you imagine what your latte is going to cost from Starbucks soon......

all dairy prices change everyweek i know that at work butter can be change by 10 or twenty dollors per case and in the store it mite change even more, but it has been like this for a long time, when we all here at gas goes up we tend to look at what else goes up........

I don't notice these things
but then again I drink Lactaid and that lasts for weeks and I only by the quart one.

I don't really like milk.

So $2.25 is expensive for a gallon? What is 'average'?

lol

It cracks me up.. the news is all over every nickel that gas prices go up, but it cost twice as much for a gallon of milk than it does a gallon of gas. I hear it's gonna go up again.

I remember buying a gallon for $2. Now a gallon is I think around $3.50-$4.00. I only buy quarter gallons. No one drinks it fast enough in our house.

Still. Milk is pricy!!! Hence you see a lot more adds for yogurt, cheese and other dairy products. Cost of Ice Cream is going up as well. *shrug* It was bound to happen.

We are not really milk drinkers but I bought one of those little containers of Ricotta cheese yesterday and have to admit I was shocked when it rang up at $3.39 It was 15oz and I remember the price being in the 2.19-2.29 range. I normally don't notice the prices of things like that too much since I don't buy it too often, but I have to admit I was surprised.

The problem actually is because of the Mad Cow disease scare they recently had in Canada. All imports of Canadian cows have been stopped. The US farmers don't have enough cows to meet the demand for dairy
products and so they have jacked up the prices. I just don't get how this is possible in this day and age.. but they you have it.
