Does anyone have anything bad to say about the Milleridge. I keep hearing good things but people told me the food was bad??
Thanks.

Maybe go in on your own and try just regular lunch or dinner, without them knowing you are thinking of booking. I did that at my place..I went when my banquet manager wasnt working and noone else knew who I was..we had lunch and itw as great! When I went for my taste testing..they knew who I was..so I thought of course they are going to try and impress me.

Fletch - how many months before your wedding did you do your food tasting? Can you schedule a tasting for any time or do they only have them at specific times?
I'm getting married at the Carriage House (not until next May, but I'm just curious about how early I can do the tastings).
thanks!

My friend had her wedding in the cottage and it was amazing. I think her cocktail hour was outside. The dinner was soooo good. I had a chicken dish and ate the whoe thing!!!

OK, i may be biased but I have only heard good things about Milleridge. I had my wedding there in March and people are still telling us what a great time they had. The service and the food were excellent.
We had our tasting about a month before the wedding.

Anniegrl - I actually had the tasting before we booked. I wanted to make sure we liked the food before deciding. You can probably do a tasting anytime you want but they will probably recommend closer to the wedding date so you can make your selections.

I've eaten at the Milleridge... since I could eat! It is my family's favorite restaurant. The food is sooo goooood. (that's the main reason why I booked the Cottage!)
(Can't wait for my tasting!)

Re: Milleridge - Any bad comments?
in the restaurant the food is average... the big attraction is a full dinner for under $20.... BUT i heard the food is suppose to be ALOT better for the catering part of it..

Oh, the food is good, but whatever you do, do not agree to have Sam as your Maitre d'. He has no idea what he is doing, and caused us a few upsetting moments! For example, he confused the boutonnieres for my DH and his Best man! I don’t know how he managed to do that, since the difference is was so very clear. You can totally tell on all the pictures that the boutonnieres wre switched! Of course, we didn’t notice till it was too late! And that's just one example!
Also, my bridal attendant didn’t know who to bustle my dress! Hello?? That was the main reason for having her there in the in the first place! (her name was Anna, or Anne, or Annie, something like that-short blond hair)

I went to a wedding there- it was beautiful and I don't remember having anything bad to say about the food. If it was bad, I would have remembered!

Re: Milleridge - Any bad comments?
My info may be a little outdated b/c my wedding as March 2001. However, the catering at the Cottage is separate from the restaurant so it isn't a true indication of the food. The food was delicious though. I had the 2 star menu and there was tons of food, the cocktail hour was unbelieveable so I can only imagine what the 3 star looks like. Steve was our maitre'd and he was amazing, always right there to be helpful, not only to use but our Moms as well (both Dads are deceased). I dont know who the bridal asst was but it was inconsequential to me. I made sure my MOH knew how to bustle my dress and all went well. There are lots of ways to bustle so you are better off having someone in your BP or family get the lesson on bustling at the dress store. The bridal asst was great with food and drinks while we took pics during the cocktail hour.
I found all the banquet managers very helpful. I mainly dealt with Leslie but Tiffany was great too when Leslie was not there. (Again this was 2+ years ago so I dont know if they are still there).
I have only rave reviews about Milleridge. One thing that I found lacking was the cake, I didn't think it was particularly tasty but other people told me it was good so who knows?
Good luck. HTH

MBENT1 -welcome
Just to let you know, not a good idea to make a post asking for bad comments - better to ask for positive comments , just so that you don't unintentionally hurt a bride who is having her reception there.
Edited to say : FM Sassyz75- she used to work there!
