Milleridge – any reason NOT to book them??

Milleridge – any reason NOT to book them??

Hi everyone: I love the honest feedback on this site and am narrowing down my RH options and plan to book this week. I have 3 questions:

(1) I love Milleridge but wanted to see if there was any bad experiences or issues to look out for. I really only see great feedback so that's a good sign but am looking for that honesty.
(2) Also, I'm having a smaller wedding (100 to 125 MAX) and I sort of feel that the Cottage space might seem too large and empty. Any experience?
(3) Anything extra I should specify when booking or get in writing, if we decide on the Cottage... Thanks! :)

My sister had her shower there two years ago and we loved it.

Re: Milleridge – any reason NOT to book them??

We had 107 (our minimum was 100 in the cottage) and the wedding was perfect. I'd be happy to share pictures if you want to see more.

I loved everything about the Milleridge Cottage. If I ever get my review together, I'll be giving them top marks!

We wanted a buffet for our meal there, because I had heard how amazing the food was -- honestly, it's been 3 months and the first thing people say to me when we talk about our wedding is still how incredible the food was! They say they've never eaten so well (or so much lol) at a wedding before! They then usually talk about how beautiful it was.

The space is perfect for a group, and they can really customize it so the room doesn't feel too big. We were lucky and the weather was surprisingly nice on our wedding day (rain was predicted for a whole week and suddenly, sun!) so the atrium looked incredible for our ceremony! We did all our shots on the grounds there, and got some really cute, fun shots at the village. The cocktail hour a lot of our guests went outside on the balcony, which I was surprised with, but they all loved! The suite space there is really perfect (the bathroom was great for me as far as being able to use it in my dress lol -- and all my guests were happy with their accommodations as well). I loved being introduced as husband and wife coming down the stairs to bubbles -- some of my favorite pictures are from right there!

Our cake was amazing. I literally ripped a picture out of a magazine and asked for it to be modified just slightly, and what they made me was everything I dreamed of! I mean, exactly perfect, and completely delicious! The way the dance floor is there is great because people who are a little shy don't feel like they're not part of the party if they dance a little to the side, since the whole floor IS dance floor! Oh, some of our guests were telling me that the liquor was very good at the wedding too -- apparently they were doing shots until the limo bus came at the end lol. I'm glad they enjoyed. The Viennese hour was AMAZING too -- the crepes were so delicious. Can you tell I ate like crazy at our wedding??

Let me know if you have any specific questions. The only thing someone told me that was a little negative about our wedding was that it felt really cold in the atrium room during the ceremony. I don't know if you're thinking of getting married at the location or not, but that was literally the only thing anyone said to me about the entire wedding that wasn't perfect. Honestly, though, I didn't notice it -- maybe it was adrenaline or because we were moving. Once they got the CH set up, though, no one thought it was cold there. (It was also July, so people were wearing practically nothing lol.)

Some of the other things we really liked was that there wasn't a valet and no need for one -- our guests really appreciated that! It's one wedding at a time, so I felt like a star and we felt completely taken care of. We were not rushed one little bit even though we were the day wedding (the other bride that night was an LIW bride as well -- our paths never crossed our wedding day). I worked with Debbie as my BM and she was great at communicating (she emailed me back when I had questions very quickly). She was great about setting up the tables so the 107 still looked like a huge group, despite the room being able to fit 300 -- we felt intimate and comfortable, and it was really a magical day.

Hope that helps! Good luck with your decision!

Re: Milleridge – any reason NOT to book them??

we were very happy with our choice...

i liked that it is one wedding at a time
it has a very cozy feeling and pretty grounds
i really liked the linens and china.. it's different

what took me a little bit to get used to...

there is (was) this weird wall thing.. it is usually kept open during the reception and the dj kinda is just standing there all exposed.....so we had only a section of that wall up during the reception...plus i was soo happy they had actually replaced the wall with french doors!! so pretty!!!

plus the actual drive up to the cottage.. isn't very pretty.. it's a parking lot... but i got over it!! how many pix do you take in front right??

you can decorate the whole place however you want.. so you can dress it up to your liking...also they are very flexible, they can set up the furniture and couches however you want!!

i even had us enter the room through a different door!! The possibilites are endless there!!

here are some pix!! I am currently working onm y
review!!

also th ebakery was very good!! they made our grrom's cake as well!! We were very impressed and it was soooo good!!

I haven't been to a wedding at Milleridge Cottage but FH and I did check it out when we were RH shopping. It is such a gorgeous hall and the BM we met with was so nice and was very accomodating!!! We ultimately decided on another hall, but if we didn't go with our hall we would have DEFINITELY booked Milleridge!! LOVE the cocktail hour room! Good luck!

Thanks ladies... all good advice. See... there never seems to be anything bad to say about Milleridge. We have a tasting booked and our date on hold so we'll see how that all goes!

My cake was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It's in the post I have up near the top of this thread.) We went by the confectionary and tasted the vanilla fillings and just loved it. We did vanilla cake with vanilla custard and buttercream. They made the cake EXACTLY like the picture I'd pulled out of a magazine! Our topper fit perfectly on it too! I still think my cake is one of my favorite things about our wedding.
