Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

That is what I am thinking as well. Don't think I want a huge thing in the middle of the table and I don't want high ones. I was thinking I could just get the dozen roses and we could put some votive candles on the table. We are going to put tapered candles on each table as well. I think that should be good. Simple but elegant and the candles will add to the already great lighting they have.

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

We kept the 6 roses in the bubble vase as our centerpieces and they looked just fine. It totally depends on the importance you place on centerpieces. I find everyone has different things that mean more to them than others when planning their wedding. Obviously if you want something more 'standout-ish', you can upgrade to the dozen or use a credit they will give you for them towards different centerpieces from their florist. We kept the 1/2 dozen (white, also used the white table cloths and napkins), brought in candles of our own for the tables. Between that and the favors laid out on the tables, plus the place settings, I thought the tables looked lovely. I guess bottom line answer: they didn't look skimpy in my opinion.

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

My girls are wearing black so I can go with any color. I think I am going to do the flowers in fall colors. When we went to the Milleridge Florist he showed us deep terracotta colored roses and they were beautiful. So something dark and warm. I think your girls are wearing yellow...right? You could do yellow roses. I have seen it set up that way and they looked great. What color bouquets are you doing?

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

The only problem with the yellow roses, is I am afraid that they will be too dark for the dresses as they are very pale. I am torn between yellow roses or pink or even white. Fall colors are a great idea for your wedding!

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

Just for piece of mind, my future Brother and Sister in Law got married there on June 8th. She had the same conern and decided to go with the dozen roses in pink. It looked lovely, in my opinion the place is beautiful enough. No need to spend the extra money on upgrades.

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

Thanks Boden that makes me feel better.

Amy- They don't have to match perfectly. Actually I think the contrast would be nice. Since you will have the light into a good part of your reception the white may not add enough 'color'. They may get washed out in the sunlight.

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

We are getting married in the cottage on Oct. 13th and just went to the florist to choose everything on Tuesday..My mom and I had the greatest time... Chris was a riot and we spent hours an dhours there....I knew esxactly what I wanted and went with that...I upgraded quite a bit and it did become costly but I had a vision in my mind...my girls are wearing Platinum dresses so I wanted everything white but my bouquet which is red.....We went with keeping the bubble vase and doing between 36 and 40 white roses in each tight without any green or babies breath.......Then we are doing 10 votives on each table too....Roses in those vases are beautiful no matter how many you do or what color....and like mentioned before...the room is beautiful...I planned on decorating the mantle and the staircase and then called him back to say I did not want to ruin the look of the room and to cancel that.....My mom and I have also collected a zillion pillar candles of all sizes in whites and ivories for the mantle...so that is a nice idea for everyone......it will look very dramatic...Lighting is everything!! Lets talk menus soon.....I love Milleridge discussion....Is everyone doing 2 or 3 stars and what mains are you choosing...I need ideas......Steph

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

I am getting married there next sunday and they automatically upgraded me to a dozen roses. When I went to the florist they wre so nice and are matching the roses to my bouquets with three different colors in the vases. Also, they are varying the colors so that each table is a little different. They also told me I could add extra flowers to the vase for about $5. I figure these centerpieces are saving me up to $1000 which I can put towards other things.

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

Hi fellow Cottage brides&grooms! I designed my centerpiece, but used the dozen roses in it. Another idea for staying within your bugdet but being a little creative is to use berries, seeded eucalyptus, fern or queen annes lace instead of regular greens & babys breath. The berries that are available in the fall are awesome! Go to
http://www.romanticflowers.com/table_top_photos.html
for great ideas on different 'fillers' to use with what you get in your package. I'm having a day party so I'm not using candles, but I love that idea as weel. Also rose petals on the table are nice!
Good Luck!!!!

Re: Milleridge Brides Help!!

Stef,

We were actually at 7:45. I thought it may have been you because the bride before me had her mom and andother women with her and they ran over a bit and Chris said they had been there for awhile and they were all laughing and enjoying themselves so I thought it may be you.
