We went there this Sat and took a bunch of pictures on the digital camera--is anyone interested in seeing them? I haven't yet uploaded them to the computer but plan on doing it this week Let me know if anyone is interested We passed another bride and groom when we were there and they are getting married there in 5 weeks and we said hi and it made me wonder if it was one of you guys--isn't that weird? because we could have passed each other at some point and have had no clue Laura
Annmarie, I am a professional makeup artist on the island.I can offer you a complimentary trial makeover.Check out my web site at www.ImakeupYou.com feel free to e-mail me with any ?'s you may have.Look foreward to hearing from you.
It's important to remember that there is a LOT of hype out there, and people are being told all kinds of misinformation that they believe. As far as I know, I've been doing this style longer than any other studio that I know of on Long Island (10+ years), and I have a pretty good sense of what works and what doesn't and what is genuine and what is an add-on. By all means, do your research (if you take this subject seriously) and don't believe anyone (including myself.) If you see a difference in the issues that I've addressed, than you'll know how to proceed. If you don't see a difference, than of course it makes sense to save your money and believe what they tell you (ONLY if it doesn't make a difference!)

Hi Laura -
I would LOVE to see the pics. Even though our wedding is not until March 17, it is never too late to start envisioning that day. My email is [email protected] . Thanks for sharing!!! They said to me that you can put your own touches on the mantle area instead of the dried flower arrangement they have - I was thinking of candles of different sizes in our colors. Have you decided to do something different? Did they mention it to you as well?

I never thought about that-- but the candles seem like a nice idea-- our wedding is after yours-- 4/28-- a year from tomorrow--yikes!!! I haven't been able to download the pics yet but will keep you posted on when I do I finish my masters next week so after that I will have lots of free time!!! Laura
If anyone needs a Limousine service for their wedding, check our CRUISE CONTROL LIMOUSINES. My sister got married in November 1999 . THEY WERE GREAT! She had a beautiful Rolls Royce and two stretches. The drivers were really nice and took care of everything. The cars were on time and clean. I am using them for my wedding in September. Has anyone else used them?
You have to pick out your bridesmaid dresses before you choose your flowers. You can look around for florist that you like, but you won't be able to get a price from them until you have the flowers that you want. Worry about the florist last, the big thing is the photographer and recption site.

That is a great idea We are thinking of a ring of roses and maybe ivy with a small bowl with 3 floating candles in the middle I like the candle idea-- Laura

Dear Amy, et. al. There really is a difference between offering an opinion and being adversarial. David offered his credentials for a reason + I'll offer mine for the same reason. I'm 48 years old, married for 13 years, have two incredible children, and run a successful business that showcased a style of photography 10+ years ago that is just now becoming popular. The reason the background is offered is to give a sense of perspective. There really is a certain amount of knowledge that is gained from years of experiance. The conception that I don't have enough to do and spend my time on this board is simply a misconception. I like to take a break every once in a while and see if anyone is needing advice about any issues that I might be of help for. Believe me, if there is anything missing in my life it's that I'm too busy + don't have enough free time. 15 minutes a day on this board does not exactly qualify as anything but a diversion from a busy life.
When suggestions or advice are offered, they're done with good intentions to help people going through a difficult and stressful and confusing time in their lives, where my experiances might be helpful and appreciated. That is all. I've been contributing to this board for about a year now and I don't shy away from controversy. I've been a rebel in the wedding industry by being more avante garde than most of the studios + they are just now starting to catch on. You don't need to hire me to ask me a question. I'm not looking for business by participating on the board. However, I might have something to offer, if anyone would like some help. That's all. If someone says something that I think is being misunderstood, than I'll say so and offer my support. Wouldn't you like to know what goes on behind the scenes in the industry? Don't you want to avail yourselves of every opportunity to make the most informed decisions?
