Milleridge Cottage- Hotels?

Hey everyone! I am new to the site and just booked the Milleridge Cottage for my wedding in September! My fiancee's family is coming up from Virginia and I need to get a block of rooms. I would like to get one that is cheap but still decent looking. Hopefully with a bar in it. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Re: Milleridge Cottage- Hotels?

Congrats new Milleridge Bride!!!! We loved it there so much!

We booked our block at the Melville Marriott. My mom and I actually did a whole tour of hotels in the Jericho area and were very not thrilled by a lot of them. We walked into the Melville Marriott (which is actually where the Milleridge suggests) and my mom went 'it's just like in Disney World' (she thought it looked like the Contemporary hotel there) so we blocked it. Most of our guests were from OOT, including DH and his entire family, and we all stayed there. They gave us a rate of $129/night for the group block, but then some friends saw that they could get it on Expedia for $119 for a particular week they were looking. When I called the hotel to inquire, they comped our suite for us for the second night and gave us $100 off the first night in the suite as a compromise (which I think they'd do if you just asked too).

They were great about sending me updated spreadsheets of the guests who had booked whenever I requested, and the rooms were really clean. We even took photos inside (did our reveal on the grand steps in the lobby) and outside on our wedding day! They gave us a room to get ready in for the girls downstairs, which was nice.

After the wedding, all our guests gathered in the lobby area behind the really beautiful glass elevators and sat around drinking and playing games and gossiping for several hours! (Ours was a day wedding.) They didn't care at all that we brought our own booze or that we were a large group just hanging out there!

I really liked it at the Melville Marriott. LMK if you have any other questions I can answer.

I really should just get my review together some time instead of typing individual reviews any time I see someone ask about my vendors lol. But that's my problem....

HTH!

I went to a wedding at the Milleridge Cottage, and the block was at the Sheraton Four Points in Plainview.

We used the Huntington Hilton and their shuttle....everything worked out great.

Congrats!!
Four Points Sheraton in Plainview!! Ask for Nicole Leary. Some of the extras they offer: a shuttle to Milleridge, keep the bar open late for your guests, private brunch....
