Milleridge Food & Flowers

Milleridge Food & Flowers

FOOD: We went to a tasting yesterday at the Milleridge and let me tell you, the food was excellent. they were having a wedding so we got to taste what they would serve at a "real" wedding as opposed to them making something special just to impress us. The food tasted great and the presentation was beautiful.

FLOWERS: We also went to see the Milleridge Florist to see what the centerpieces that are included are like. My fsil was a florist for 13 years so we brought her along to give us her take on things. I had heard on this board that the Milleridge Florist was over priced but let me tell you, they are not overpriced at all. I don't know where people got that idea. My Fsil was impressed by the freshness of the flowers, they talked abut where they order their flowers from and all the other things that I would never have thought about. They spent 1 1/2 hour with us talking about diffferent options. I don't really know what I want as a bouquet, so they made a bouquet to show me possibilities, which was really nice casue I really don't get much of a feel for things from just looking at pictures. They were so professional and honest, even my fsil was impressed. And to top it all off, they gave me the flowers he'd used as an example (easily $75-100 worth of flowers) to take home.

Milleridge Flowers Average $$?

The prices I was quoted seems very reasonable, I think I paid more for flowers 11 years ago for my prom. I don't have bridesmaids, so spending under $300 for flowers doesn't seem too much to me.

Then the MIlleridge gave me a good price, they told me from $80+.

Just another opinion.

That is good to hear-- we haven't been to a tasting yet and only met with the florist for about 10 minutes a few months back-- I will def think about going back to them-- we want to upgrade our 6 roses to a ring of roses with 3 floating candles in the middle-- when is your wedding? Laura

Are you keeping your proofs? one of my comforts was that I would be able to make an album w/all the photos that were taken at my wedding - even if they aren't all 8x10 :)

Choosing pctures is so hard.

What about Keil Flowers by Marie - they are supposed to be really nice. They are in Bayside. They are also related to Georgewood florists on Northern Blvd in Flushing-around 164th St.

I stay in touch with a couple of you Milleridge brides ;) Glad to see all of the positive comments on here. It looks like it's back to fun. I just wanted to post the TLC website so you can all send in your wedding pics and show them off to the world :) James and I made it on the page this week.......enjoy!! Gina

I'm Sept 17th 2000 at the Carriage House. The food was great, be prepared to eat a lot. They gave us so many different things to try that I couldn't taste more than a biteful of each thing. I especially liked the clams, shrimp & mussles marinara. The clams were huge! My fiance & I went with his sister, we didn't want too many people giving their two cents worth. Too many cooks, as the saying goes. I recommend that when you go take the sample menu with you so you can cross off what you don't like and take notes of what you tried. Also, take note of the presentation.

How did you get there for a tasting? I mean, is it something they do by appt or on a certain day? We have already booked the Cottage but havent tasted the food. While I was told my many that the food was great, it would be good to be able to decide certain things that we want/dont want.

Thanks

We just called and made an appointment. My fiance called Tiffany and made the appointment. They only do tastings during the cocktail hour of an event, that way you taste what they serve at weddings/events. Call up your consultant and make an appointment. We went at noon last saturday.

Thanks

Thanks for the info that def helps!! Can't wait to get our act in gear and go for a tasting and to check out the florist again-- at least I feel better since your wedding is a lot sooner!!! Take care Laura

I have purchased the cameras at Ultimatewedding.com and have received them right away, they were in good condition and look great. The brand is Kodak, which you know is a good brand. I will let you know soon how well the pictures are! In my opinion, I like the wedding cameras, rather than the every day disposable cameras. Now, that's the bride in me talking. If I were at a wedding as a guest, I would not NOTICE the difference on what kind of camera it is.

Good luck. They are fabulous!!!!!
