Milleridge Inn is a beautiful place but food is iffy. Some days great, some days not so great. We have all our family parties there, especially holiday. The Milleridge carollers (sp?) will serenade your party...
Never been to GW Manor...
Don't give up!!!

I am getting married at GWM next Sept. I am using the Mount Vernon Room. My headcount is about 140. They have several rooms that will accomodate a smaller wedding and are just as lovely! I always hear raves about their food. The staff is awesome- really friendly and straightforward people. I booked with Janine Phelan, whom I believe is the Sales Manager- she is awesome!! The price pp is great and they include centerpieces!! Check out their site for pics, there are several online there. HTH! http://www.georgewashingtonmanor.com/room_mountvernon.cfm

Re: milleridge inn & george washington manor
I am getting married at the milleridge inn carriage house. They have the cottage which the minimum is I think 200. We are also having a small wedding, like 70 people. The carriage house is private, it's own building the minimum is 65 and max is 100. It is intimate and beautiful. The food is not the same as in the main restaurant, it is phenominal. They are very resonable and have many dates open since most people have larger weddings and can't fit in the smaller space. I checked out many places and got discouraged very quickly. It seems when you are having a small wedding you are getting put in a small dark room somewhere in the basement at most places at least in my experience. I highly recommend the carriage house and Nadine my BM. The rates are resonable and they are very accomadating. There are pics on the website butI think it doesn't do itj ustice, see it in person. HTH, sorry this is so long. Good Luck

Re: milleridge inn & george washington manor
Sorry, it's longgggggggggg:
GWM was one of the very first RH's that I looked at. I fell in love with the pics they had on their website and decided to go see it. I loved the whole old fashioned look and the pictures of how everything looked at x-mas time. However, the only room I liked enough was the Mount Vernon room which I believe required 95 people minimum. It had a seperate cocktail room downstairs. I liked that the cake was included and also mini centerpieces (good to use for cocktail hour) Also they have a chapel on the premises which I needed ($500 fee) I decided to go back a second time with FH, my mom, her fiance and my moms best friend for a tasting. Now here's where I got turned off - the food was horrible and no one else seemed to like the decor of the place, felt it was 'out dated' The salmon was dry b/c it was frozen, they never served a cake taste, the chicken dishes were very blah and everything had the same sauces! The girl who had helped me the first time on the second visit made us go look at the room ourselves and basically left for the night....after I had an appointment to meet with her to go over everything again. The price was good - $90 pp for a Saturday night. Soooooooo needless to say we left there and scratched that off the list. I ended up booking with Bedells at West Winds in Freeport on the water. I had my Sweet 16 and my moms 40th b-day there a few years back. Everyone raved about the food at both parties. They only do one party at a time and they have 3 rooms set up for cocktail hour and the Crystal room is beautiful. I love it also b/c I'm having a Dec. x-mas theme and outsite the yachts will all have x-mas lights up. They also decorate very nice for xmas so it will make nice pics. They have a nice bridal suite too. The staff their is wonderful and the Matre'D remembered us. The minimum is 75 people and for a Saturday night we got a great price of $70 per person. Includes 5 hour top shelf liquor and a cake as well and plenty of food. I'd check them out. I know you had said 50-60 people but the price might fit into your budget and allow you to invite another 20 people or so. Good Luck!!!! Hope that helped!

Re: milleridge inn & george washington manor
We are getting married at the GWM in April and my dad got married at Milleridge 2 yrs ago. I LOVE GWM...the food is amazing, it has a classy yet comfortable feel, and the staff is ridiculously nice. Millerige was cute but a little to 'garden-ish' for my style and I wasn't as impressed with the food.
We are having a small wedding...we Guaranteed 60 at GWM...FM me for more details like the pp head, etc. check my album for pics of gwm

I was married at Milleridge Cottage and they did a FABULOUS job so i would assume that the Inn would be amazing too. i was at a shower at GW Manor ande actually wanted my shower there.
I think no matter what, you will be happy.
Make a pros/cons list to be the tie breaker

I got married at the GWM this last August. You can check some of the pics on my album. All the pics were taken there.
I was wonderful for a small wedding. It's very romantic. Colonial style.
I used the chapel. I love the fact that it was a different building and the stairs case is so pretty.
In regards to the previous comment on the food. The food is amazing. My guests loved the place. They thought it was perfect for a smaller wedding.

I got married at milleridge carriage house, i was very happy. it was perfect for a small wedding, because it is like having your own little house. the food was great, and the CH was the perfect size- not too obscene and not too little. The first couse spinach crepe is a must. We also got the vienesse- which we got raves on from all the guests. I was really happy with what they did.

I've been to a wedding at the Carriage House at the Milleridge Inn and it was beautiful. I have been to two weddings at George Washington Manor and they were also very nice. If I had to choose? I would say Carriage House.

Re: milleridge inn & george washington manor
we are almost 100% sure we're gonna go with Fox Hollow. my aunt (hallowedding) is having her wedding there tomorrow and i know she was having like 80 people at her place so i figured we'd ask and they gave us an amazing price and the minimum is 65 which is right up our alley. now its just on to trying to find cheap vendors without being too cheap!!
