Hi all- My fiance and I are having a holiday December wedding. We have looked at and loved both the Milleridge Inn Cottage and the Westbury Manor. Both had lovely decorations and when we factor in our financial budget, they are virtually the same price for a Sat. afternoon wedding.
We are having a very difficult time deciding which hall to book and need to do so by the end of the week. I read great reviews about both places. The only concern I have at this point are the negatives (that I am not hearing about). Does anyone have any information that would be helpful about either venue? I especially would like to know about the food at the Milleridge (I have people that say good, and people that say not so good), as they only do a food tasting after you book (isn't that wierd?). Thank you for any advice....

I might be biased bc of where my wedding is, but I say go for the Milleridge cottage. The service that you get there is amazing, they bend over backwards to please you. The food is good, the bakery is awesome, there are so many photo-ops on premise's...Also its just your wedding at the cottage, i dont know how it is at Westbury Manor...
ETA some of my family has eaten at the cottage for parties before and they had nothing but good things to say.

Just wanted to say, as far as good goes, I've eaten at the Milleridge Inn and the food is FANTASTIC! Since, both have resturants, why don't you try the food at both places and see which you like better?

I am also biased about the Milleridge Cottage because that is were my wedding is but I acutally just had my e-party at teh Milleridge Carriage House and everything was AMAZING!! The food and service was above anything I had hope for. The cake was fabulous!!!! Plus your wedding is the only one that goes on!!! They treat you like royalty!!!

I looked at both places. WM was one of my top choices. I didn;t go with WM because I wanted to be the only bride.
If you are looking for a holiday wedding then defiantely the cottage is a better choice anyway, imo. It is known for the holiday season.
I was able to do a tasting. I was able to work it out where if I wasn;t happy with the food, I would get my deposit back. There was no need the food was delicious!!! By the way the cook for the cottage is different than the cook for the inn.
We chose the cottage because... 1. no one i knew got married there ( i dont want my wedding to get compared to anyone else's) 2. I am the only bride 3. the shops are a very unique aspect and great picture place
4. it is so cozy and elegant

i ate at the milleridge last year around chistmas and it was soo good, i havent been to the wm.

Actually I think the food served at the inn is by a different chef than the food you'd be served at the cottage but I was married at the cottage and I think the food is even better than the inn.

THey are both great choices but of couse I would be biased to WM. I would go taste the food at each to see which you like better.

I am a WM manor bride so I may be biased but I think the food at WM is better. I have been to a few different types of events at Milleridge and the food has not alway been of the same quality. Although Milleridge's bakery is always AWESOME.

that is a touch choice. both places are great. I've eaten at the milleridge cottage- they do a great buffet and the food is great. i've also eaten in the restaurant at WM and the food there was good too. WM has the beautiful gardens for pics- but you said you're having a winter wedding- so i guess that won't matter. I think you'll luck out with either choice. Good Luck!

I was at a Christmas wedding last year at Westbury Manor it was absolutely gorgeous & the place is fantastic. I say WM!

I have eaten at the Inn a couple of times and thought the food just ok as does my cousin. we tend to think you go there for the atmoshpere, not the food which is why we don't go too often. went for a seminar too and that also just ok. maybe different cooks but I was not impressed. can't say about WM but it is a nice looking place.

I think both places look amazing for a winter wedding. But I must say Im in love with the room at millridge that has all the windows and is round (don't know the name, sorry!) And I love that they have the xmas village- so for those 2 reasons, they get my vote.

I had a realy bad experience when I visited the Millridge, so I can really be unbiased. The banquet manager was a complete witch and I was turned off. But the people at WM were awesome and made me feel so welcomed...even though I showed up without an appointment at 8:30 pm. My sister just went to a wedding there and said it was awesome.
