Mini-moon help

OK so now it turns out that fh will have to take a class 7 days after our wedding in August down in VA. I still want to do something for our honeymoon but that Alaskan cruise I had in mind is obviously out of the question. Any ideas that aren't super expensive?

Are you looking to go somewhere warm, cold, etc? Also around what budget?

well.. it will be august so it will probably be warm in most places.... and our budget will be kind of tight. Maybe less then $2000? I'm not sure at this moment as I am unemployed, fh is going back to school and we want to move and buy a home soon. we will probably take another honeymoon once we get our lives in order but I would hate to put off any honeymoon until then (because you know how that can be... it might never happen!)

We are planning to go to Niagra Falls after the wedding for a few days and it's not expensive at all!

FH and i are kind of in the same situation...
we are getting married a day before you and need to be in Virginia 4 days later. There are a few places on Long Island or CT that are nice but we decided (Since we are driving to VA) to find a place nearby.
We are considering the hyatt of Chesapeake for 2 or 3 nights then continuing to VA.

Its not pricey nor do i know the neighborhood but its on the water and has a pool and spa...so how bad can it be??!

You can do a cruise from NYC for a few days to New England and Canada.

We got my sister and her DH a mini-moon in Mystic CT as their wedding gift. It included a B&B, dinner, wine tours and tastings at two wineries and some other little things. It was definitely under 2K, you should look into it! They had a great time.

Re: Mini-moon help

how about someplace out east? rent a timeshare or something and just spend a romantic time together...wherever you go, as long as you are together that is what matters! and if you want to put off a honeymoon u can do it too and just promise yourself to really do one afterwards...my best friend did that...she did her HM one year afterwards LOL and it was great, she went on a cruise and went all out....
just go with your gut, if you really want one do it! Hamptons is good...or how about woodloch pines in PA?

Carnival has a five day cruise to Canada leaving on 8/8 For an oceanview room the fare would be around $600. At least you would be able to get away - everything included except liquor and it leaves out of NY.
