some do both... the point of a mini moon is to get a way after the wedding if you cant schedule a regular honeymoon right after... usually due to timing

Ok so I guess once we decide when and where to take our honeymoon, we can go from there. I don't think I would want to do both, plus I don't think I could afford it! Probably just a honeymoon will be fine! Thanks!

We're taking a mini-moon because we can't go on our actual honeymoon until the end of November. The weather is cruddy in Thailand in October so we had to wait... but I figured I would be needing a vacation after all of the planning so we booked a cruise out of Florida. You definitely don't need to do both. We weren't going to and were just going to wait but FH has vacation time he needs to use so what the heck

I don't mind answering questions!! Our HM to Thailand is going to be 14 days with travel (worst flights ever) and then our mini-moon Cruise is 7 days. The cruise was pretty affordable, with airfare it was under $2k. We do like to travel. FH used to be a consultant so he racked up tons of points over the years traveling to see clients and now I get the benefit LOL! I think these two trips are the first we;ve had to shell out cash for since we've been dating so we figured what the heck. In any other circumstance we definitely woudn't go on two long trips so close to one another. .

We did a mini-moon in February after our civil ceremony. We just went to the Poconos for a couple of days, then Atlantic City. Definitely felt more like a honeymoon, but we didn't have the big 2010 wedding we were planning, so I didn't refer to it as that. I call it a mini-moon. The honeymoon, for me, will be in 2012 when we have the big wedding and go to the beach!!!

Yes!! Chibi Moon! I used to be obsessed! She was Sailor Moon's daughter with pink hair and red/magenta eyes
I miss that show...and all my old Sailor Moon stuff that I sold at a garage sale when I thought I was officially becoming a grown-up at the end of high school

I love this idea of a minimoon!!! I have no idea if i will be able to take a 2 week vacation/honeymoon after my wedding in 2013, but i should be able to get a 5day Disney trip in! I'm a medical resident so i can't just say i need 2 weeks off in Oct, it all coordinates around the bigger block schedule....but i will graduate in June of 2013 so i can always go on my disney/carnival cruise honeymoon later on!

We did 3-months backpacking through Asia as our 'honeymoon' before our wedding. But since we cannot afford to (and don't have time time now) to go on another large-scale trip--we are doing a 2 night trip to Ithaca and staying at a really amazing B&B!

my coworker is taking a mini moon straight after the wedding for about a week. The reason she isn't taking a honeymoon right away is bc they want to go to Thailand and the best time to go is in the spring....so she's taking her 3 week honeymoon next year.

We took a short minimoon in the Hamptons for a few days right after wedding because we didn't want to have to go straight back to work and because we are taking real Honeymoon to Thailand in November. We didn't want to go to Thailand right after wedding because it is rainy season!
