MINI REVIEW OF INN AT NEW HYDE PARK
So FH had his Christmas party yesterday at the INN and he thought i was crazy because i was taking mental notes for the girls getting married there or thinking abiout getting married there.
** FH is sleeping.. pictures to come when he wakes up
Arrival- We pull up and the place is soooooooooo beautiful outside. There are lights all over (not sure if thats just for Christmas). Valet parking was very quick, I think there was four different guys working and we did not have to wait in line, as soon as we pulled up the gave us a ticket and took the jeep even though there was five cars there.
INSIDE- The main entry, with the fireplace is so beautiful, there are lights and Christmas trees all over. Then there was a young lady that asked us what we were here for and directed us to the downstairs room and coat check. The coat check was very easy and quick, there were two girls working there.
COCKTAIL HOUR- I dont know if this was the menu for a Christmas party or if this is there menu always but, this was the only time i didn't pig out at cocktail hour. There were about six trays of food on a table and I didn't eat anything but, the fruit. They had the mozz cheese with tomatoes, artichoke, beans, cheese and crackers and fruit.
If your getting married there I think you should try to make the menu with things for everyone. A majority of the people just ate the fruit.
RECEPTION- Can you say AMAZING?? The food was sooo good. It made up for cocktail hour. There was soooooo much food. Two pasta stations with rigotini in alfredo and penne al a vodka, calamari (one of the best I tasted), chicken in rice, ribs, dumblings, eggplant, vegetable and steak stir fry, a steak carving station and i dont remember what else. Anyway the food was really good.
THE SERVICE- I have to say as a former waitress I am very picky about service from others and I have no complaints. the whole staff worked together. As soon as a plate was finished it was removed, anytime you got up from the table your napkin was refolded by the time you got back, my water was always refilled, they brought the tea we asked for in a matter of seconds and came around to ask if we wanted more drinks from the bar.
All in all, i had a great experince, it was a beautiful place, the staff is very friendly and attentive, whoever is getting married there will have a great experince.
