The facial was great. My face felt so revived afterwards especially this morning. She did extractions as well. My skin is pretty good so all i bought was the glycolic foaming cleanser. I used it this morning and wow i can feel the difference on my skin. They also gave me samples as well.
The place is really busy after 5:30pm. Its not the serene spa experience that everyone might hope for. However, i knew this before I went in. The staff there are not as happy b/c its just so busy there. There are like 20 people working at Mario. When i got there, there were like 7 other girls waiting for facials. They have like 30 rooms in this place. For the money you spend you really can't expect this place to be top notch. For the price the facial was really good though.
I reccommend this place to all!
It feels good to have rejuvenated skin.

I love Mario Badescu. I use his products all the time. If I worked in the city, I'd probably be at the spa every week!

an extraction is when they get all the blackheads, whiteheads and whatever else might be lurking out of your skin

I was there once and just wasn't that impressed. Everyone hyped it up so much and I guess I thought it would be better than it was. Maybe my facialist wasn't that good.
Frederic Fekkai is really good ask for Elizabeth. I used to use her a long time ago so I am not sure if she is still there.

Re: Mini Review of Mario Badescu
Thanks for the review...you are right..it almost feels like a doctors office, rather then a spa when you go in...but their facials are awesome. I received gift certificates from there every year from my old job and I was a big fan of their hair and body products. They have the best Jojoba (sp?) shampoo.
If you are looking for a place in the future that may be more of a spa feel, try Georgette Klinger. I use the one in Manhasset on Northern Blvd, but I know there is one in NYC. They are more$$$ but you get that whole pamper experience.
Thanks for sharing!!!

Re: Mini Review of Mario Badescu
This is so weird, because I was there on Tuesday for a massage and a facial. It was ok. I have never had a facial before, but I was bored. I had Irina...and she was really sweet - but I felt like she just left me alone for a majority of the time. Is this the norm for a facial....
Did not really enjoy the experience or feel super clean after. Felt kind of the same, but felt like I wasted a lot of time....
I would have liked some samples...no one offered them, did not think to ask, but I would probably even have purchased some cleanser or toner, but I was not even asked. Again, did not think about it.
What I was more concerned about...how much to tip them.
