I totally know what you mean- we have a house already, but it is SOO much money and work to keep up- especially when you have to pay for a wedding at the same time. And FH says he wants a good amount of time before kids, but I got into a car accident like 5 years ago that I ended up needing emergency open heart surgery because of, so one of our big conversations is that while I want to have the 'just married' feeling too, I don't want to have BOTH my age, and my stapled together heart be an issue with kids!!!

Everything is a push and pull. The best bet is to enjoy what is going on currently, and only look forward with a logical mind. You can set things into motion, but in reality, you just can't help what may or may not happen in the next few years. Just enjoy the first couple of milestones, and when decision time comes, then look ahead. My sister had her first child while still in an apartment. The baby will be 1 in january, and they are shopping for houses now. Remember that 1- you don't NEED all the space for a baby right away. and 2-the most expensive years of a babies life are the first 2. Formula, etc. After that its just another slice of pizza!!! So, it stands to reason to think about having a baby at first in a less expensive place. Then when the baby costs die down a little, look for a house. And by then you have a year or two of having a dependent for your tax status!!

Aww Im sorry Love!! Don't worry everything will fall into place and happen when it is meant to We were looking at houses a few weeks ago and decided we need to wait another year so we are getting an apt for a while. House is too much $$$ right now and we have to save for the wedding

Re: mini vent

I'm so sorry. I was given 4-5 years to be done with any children due to my health problems.....we will be married in 8.5 months, we will be moving to Manhattan in 8.5 months, new jobs in 10 months.....and then baby? The timing seems not right...but maybe it never does?

I agree, I'd rather have a baby in an apartment and move to a house with a yard in a few years as the kiddies get a little older.
