Mini Wedding Review
I had the honor of being a BM in my cousin’s wedding this past Sunday. Despite all the rain in the morning, on our way to the church, the sun came out in full force (which added to a perfect day). Here’s a mini review from my experience.
Macy*s Wedding Salon Manhasset
The women that work there were extremely friendly. It was very busy the 3 times that I went there so I had to wait for a fitting (even with an appointment). The alternations are not capped so I paid a little more than expected to get my dress altered. I didn’t know this until after the seamstress had made marks on the dress and fitted me so I let it be…they will let you take the dress and get it altered elsewhere if you want.
Crest Hollow Country Club
I have to say overall everything was wonderful! I thought the food was really good. The wedding cake was delicious (chocolate cake with a vanilla-like filling…YUMMY!) There were two other weddings going on – I never saw any of the brides, caught a glimpse of the other bridal parties and ran into a few guests in the restrooms. The service could have been a little better (i.e. they never brought me the coffee I asked for 3 times). The bartender was great and every time I went to get a drink, he knew exactly what I wanted! The martini bar was sooo good. I’m not a big fan of vodka and they had this one martini with rum, vanilla, pineapple juice – OMG loved it!
Here are some of the other vendors that were used that I know of:
St Barnabas Church (Bellmore) - they wouldn't let us throw rice, seeds or flowers outside so we blew bubbles & released balloons instead.
Pedestals – flowers were beautiful!
Starlight Express DJ - the DJ & MC were great and had guests dancing all night long. They played a really good mix of English & Italian songs, fast and slow dances.
Rumore Photography – Joe was awesome and I can’t wait to see the photos.
