I was actually snooping around on that site last night .. I like to look, what can I say .. (I did think there was some affordable homes out there) but I thought the following was also wild!
Anything I saw that was 'affordable' needed serious updating which would have cost us more in the end than to buy a house fixed up already...
And the taxes are probably closer to 5 because it says taxes plus village and there is usually another tax...school, village and county. This is so crazy!

hey guys, im in real estate, and you can find good homes still, it all depends now on school districs if your planning to have kids, i specialize with people who cant afford expensive houses, houses that are 350,000 and below, mostly try to find them fineshed basements with an outside entrance so they can have a rental income, in good school districts, most of the time they need fixing up but just cosmetically.. i also help anyone whos looking for houses on long island who would like fha loans, or anything really, and if ur not looking to have kids in the near future i try to find great houses in bad school districs b/c that brings down the price of the house alot! ex: dix hills but wyndanch school district

Okay .. maybe .. but not for that price! I mean, seriously .. it's only got 1 Bedroom!!! And being in Hicksville .. it's not even like it's got a gorgeous waterfront view.
I know, but ya gotta admit, it's so tiny that is almost charming!!!! WOuld I buy it? Um, no!

The Hicksville house almost looks like a converted garage. It is cute, in a doll house way.
I still sometimes think we should buy the mini-house, the mini mini mini house for sale in Ronkonkoma. But we'd be crowded with just our dog!
