My FIL's just gave us an amazing engagement gift. They got us place settings and most of the serving pieces for our china. One problem though...it isn't our china pattern. While my FH was figuring out what to say to his family I looked online at our registry. When I searched the names I found someone who oddly enough has the same first and last name as my FH who married a woman with the same first name as me.We are getting married Oct 2005 and this couple got married Oct 2004. And yes, they registered for the Wedgwood china that we got today. I guess the people at Fortunoff's gave my FIL's the wrong registry (?)It's not a big deal for us to exchange it, I just feel HORRIBLE for the women whose registry this came off of. This was ordered before her wedding and I am sure she is wondering what the heck is going on....eeks

Re: Minor Issue
that is CRAZY- get it straigtened out right away.. and Fortunoff should call this bride up..
So far I just got an additional 4 glasses from Fortunoff registry-- they may not be so quick on the uptake when things get a little out of hand.. no other problems though.

WELL, IT'S DEFINATELY A MINOR ISSUE....I'M SURE YOUR FIL'S WILL UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU TELL THEM, AND IF YOU ARE STILL THINKING ABOUT THAT GIRL WITH THE SAME NAME WHO GOT MARRIED ON OCTOBER 2004, THEN CALL FORTUNOFFS AND EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND MAYBE THEY WILL CONTACT HER AND LET HER KNOW.....I'M SURE BY NOW THE GIRL REALIZED THERE MUST HAVE BEEN AN ERROR.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WEDDING PLANNING!!!!

I know, I thought it was very weird! My FH didn't know what to say to his Dad when he opened up the first box...We're going to lug all 12 boxes over there on Thursday and try to get it straightened out. Like I said, it's not really an issue for us, but because of this, it looked like all of the other bride's china pieces were purchased on her registry, so I am sure that she didn't get any of it. Plus, to make matters worse the items had to be specially ordered because Fortunoff doesn't carry it in the store. I hope it isn't a problem when we try to return all of it.

Re: Minor Issue
well it is their screwup-- I would hope that when someone was making a purchase that large that the person would make sure that the stuff was coming off the right registry..
I am sure they will take care of it..

Re: Minor Issue
One of my DH husband's clients sent us a wedding gift from our registry. She sent the gift a month or two before our wedding. During one of their conversations, she mentioned that Chris have must have felt she was a little zealous sending a gift so early and then asked when he was moving to CA. She had looked up his name in Macy's and another couple with the same name as DH and a name similar to mine were getting married in CA. She sent them a gift. She had to call Macy's and try to get it back so she could send us out a gift :( - I felt so bad for her.
