Minor vent...
So FH and I got into our first disagreement last night. We met with a florist on Wednesday who we LOVED but the quote hurt! lol He really brought our vision to life, works with our venue often and I know I'd have nothing to worry about with him. That said, we got home and started going over our expenses so far, he got frustrated and made it clear food trucks and photobooths and things like that will not be happening. This made me frustrated because we are expecting around 180-200 guests.. most of which are distant relatives he feels obligated to invite (he can count on one hand how many times he's seen them in his entire life) and will probably not even cover the cost of their plate (not that I expect everyone to)... and I understand the pressure, but our minimum guarantee is 150... those extra 30-50 plates could easily go toward other vendors so we can have the wedding *we* want rather than having extra people we will not ever see again there. Am I wrong for looking at it from this perspective?

*Crashing* For starters, no you're not wrong for feeling that way. But, with my wedding around the corner I can tell you this - Invite them anyway. What you're expecting and what will actually happen will likely be two very different things. But, ultimately you'll have to decide what's more important, food trucks, photobooths and those fun extras, or over spending on flowers. The good news is, even if you do go with the expensive flowers, as you get close and you find out who is and isn't coming, you can always add things like photobooths and such last minute.Again, you're not wrong, you want the wedding you want. And you don't want to feel like a guest at your own wedding with people you've never met and will prob never see again. But, sometimes you have to take one for the team. See where else you can maybe compromise. You have plenty of time!

I agree with you...choose your battles. My MOH always tells me you will be surprised with the number of no's you will get. So maybe last minute you can do it.

I feel your pain my FH wants to invite everybody and I have the attitude if I haven't seen or spoken to you in the last year you're not invited. He feels the obligation to invite everyone. I've been with him for over 11yrs and there's family members he wants to invite that I have never meet and he hasn't seen in 11yrs. I see no point in it! Luckily for him he didn't ask for me to compromise on some vendors. If he did maybe some of his guest invitations may never make it to the post office. Lol

Legit the same thing happened to me and I agree with FutureMrsPonce, but in my case FH agreed and tried to talk to his dad since his mom sent us an insanely long list, but his dad said I don't care if you don't know them they're your mom's guests, and considering they were only paying for my bouquet at that point I was fuming, but then they also told us that all of their guests need to be invited to the rehearsal dinner that is the Wednesday before our Saturday wedding, so FH put his foot down and told them if they want that then they need to pay considering were already paying for about 20 ppl my FH doesn't know and I've had to take a few of my friends off of the list that I'm no longer that close with, but I would've invited :( but I hope that Alimm729 is right bc I'd love to throw in some more fun extras!!Welcome New Vendors
