Miriam's Corsetieres

I went to Miriam's today on Hempstead Tpke. in East Meadow for my undergarments and was so happy with the service. Miriam is wonderful to work with and I highly recommend going here if you haven't gotten your undergarments yet. I got a lace corset with panties to match and thigh highs!!

The shop is in the Chelsea Street/Pearl Art/HomeDepot huge shopping center on Hempstead Turnpike. It's just a couple of doors down from the Genovese Drugs.

I'm sorry I don't have the street number. Where are you coming from? If you take the Meadowbrook Pkwy to 24 and head East, it will be on your right just past East Meadow Ave/Eisenhower Park.

If you take the Wantagh Pkwy to 24 West, it will be on your left just past Front Street/Dunkin Donuts.

Hope this helps!

Thanx for the info. I'm definately going to check the store out. How are the prices? Reasonable?

I went to Miriam's in East Meadow too.

My mom went to Sylvia's on Merrick Road in Rockville Center. We ended up with the same bra, and hers was cheaper than mine. Oh well. She said the service was great there too.

LOL, I grew up in E Meadow & I got my first bra there too! I was there yesterday ... getting geared up as well.

** PS ... she does alterations on her bras for free!!! The bra I bought is going to need to be lowered on the sides & she said that she doesn't charge for any of it!

Metphan, not to get personal but how are the thigh highs staying up?? with those clips (forgot the name of them) or just elastic??

Re: Miriam's Corsetieres

I too am getting thigh highs - they have a band of rubber around the top of them, which just stays up

I used to wear them back in the days of suits. they're pretty comfortable

Re: Miriam's Corsetieres

dubliner, is the band of rubber really tight. Is it uncomfortable? If you are not used to them do you think it would be a bad idea to wear them the day of?

Re: Miriam's Corsetieres

they were nice there, but they ordered me a bra for my wedding that they said would be in no later than two weeks, and it came FIVE weeks later! I wound up having to find it on line! ( I am a very hard to fit size) - but the ladies were nice, I agree.

Re: Miriam's Corsetieres

The thigh highs stay up by clipping them to the clips that are attached to the corset. I actually bought a pair of thigh highs to wear to a wedding this weekend, but I'm not wearing a corset so I'll haveto see how they stay up without the clips. I hope I'm not pulling them up all night!

Christmasbride...what time were you thee? I was there around 11:30. Mine also needs alterations but she said I could take it , try it on with my dress and then bring it back for alterations.

Re: Miriam's Corsetieres

metphan-
if you buy a garter with the clips, then you don't need the whole corset thingy. i find it a bit more secure to wear the thigh highs with the elastic band AND the garter. just to be sure!

24 is on soon....go watch!
